Peace and Beauty in the Mountains
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/10/05
Wind River Ranch was a wonderful experience for my family. The scenery is breathtaking - a perfect spot overlooking the snow-capped Rocky Mountains. The activities were plentiful for everyone in my family - from younger children to teens to us parents. The staff exhibits a real servant's heart - they are mostly volunteers who see this as a ministry, and the atmosphere really reflects that spirit. The Bible study times in the morning and the "Firesides" at night also offer a reall opportunity to focus on God and grow in one's faith. The facility is fantastic, but even more, the people are awesome. This is a first class experience.

4 years ... and going strong
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/28/05
Our family of five recently returned from our 4th WRR experience, and we booked a week next summer for our 5th year!!! God willing, we'll return again and again .... ! This place of retreat, reflection, renewal and just plain FUN is so much more than the words I have to describe it! Our three kids, ages 16,13 and 5, ALL love it! Activities galore ... or not ... your choice. Each year, we've fallen in love with the staff -- many of whom volunteer their labor -- and go away humbled by their service-minded hearts and endless enthusiam. If that weren't enough, the food is great, and the mountains make for a pretty amazing back-drop!!!!

Stunning beauty
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/28/05
Wind River Ranch is the most restful vacation our family has ever had. The food is fantastic, and the staff is exceptional. The family atmosphere is safe for the kids, and there were so many activities. Our favorites were white water rafting and horseback riding. The views are stunning.

Going back again this year
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/16/05
Family oriented. People at ranch are very friendly and accomodating. The setting is beautiful and it is the best place I have found for my family and myself to get away. This unique place restores the soul and helps you to focus on the important things in life - God, family and others. Service is the key and the workers here have servants hearts. You can be as active as you want to be. It is your vacation and you are encouraged to slow down and enjoy just being alive in this wonderful setting that is God's creation. The best recommendation I can give is to let you know that we are returning this year (2005) in July for another week of pampering and relaxation. My family can't wait.

Almost Heaven
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/23/04
There is no way my review can do Wind River justice. Our family (25 of us) gathered at Wind River in June of 2004 and were treated to the retreat of a lifetime. If there's a more beautiful place in North America than this haven of peace, rest and revelation 7 miles north of Estes Park, I don't know where it is. Wind River overwhelmed me before I even made it to my cabin. The people who are responsible for making your stay enjoyable are absolutely amazing. I've never met people more genuinely invested in making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves, and many of them are unpaid VOLUNTEERS! The food was incredible, the accomodations were clean and well kept and there was more to do than we had time for. Hiking, riding, bonfires, barbecues and cook outs, watching the elk, hanging out in a hammock looking up at Estes Cone, square dancing, swimming, hot tubbing, playing basketball, climbing the climbing wall, sitting in a swing or cedar rocker reading a book, hanging out in the coffee house or rec hall and getting to know other "retreaters", shopping in Estes Park, golf and whitewater rafting outings... Those are just the highlights - there was so much more! As you know or will find out, taking your family to Wind River is a significant investment in money and time. But if you're like most families, it will be one of the best investments in family you have ever made. We were unbelievably blessed to have our trip paid for in 2004. That's not happening in 2005, but we are already booked for next June. Get there if you can. It will change your life.
