Lamplighter Motel, Alamosa

bed bugs!!!!! i got bites that blisterd from bed bugs there. told managment and they didnt even care. and every time i woul go outside threr was always somone asking for money! And then had to spend 3 hours at laundrymat to wash everything i had so not to bring bed bugs to my house.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. MY HUSBAND WAS IN ALAMOSA ON WORK AND HE GOT BED BUG BITES FROM THIS HOTEL!!!!!! IM INFORMING THE HEALTH DEPT

This is a very inexpensive ($68 which included tax and a full breakfast at the restaurant next door) but clean motel. It is an older motel but well worth the price. Our room's (113) carpet looked new it was so clean but we could tell by a frayed spot that it was not. There are two locations for this motel - this review is for the one at the end of town rather than the one in the middle of town close to the college. 5 Stars for the PRICE & FULL breakfast.

If you're expecting a modern hotel with plush amenities, this isn't it. But if you're looking for an affordable place to stay with good location, great customer service, and some nice bonuses this is the place to stay. It doesn't look like it's been updated since the 70's, but it has it's positives: the walls are brick so you can't hear your neighbors at all, unlike most hotels. You get a microwave and fridge in every room. The location can't be beat, it's right in the middle of downtown so everything is within walking distance. It's a great place to stay with pets, they have good rates and you can walk to the park just a couple blocks away for morning walks. Also, we had a situation where we needed to leave early. Lamplighter fully refunded us for the day we had to leave, even though we told them last minute that we had to go. For every day you spend here, you get a free voucher to the breakfast place by their lobby. The breakfast here surprised me and is actually really good! As far as the atmosphere, I guess the best way to describe it is not terribly clean, but it was clean enough to be comfortable. Definitely seems like there are 30 years worth of stains in the bedding, carpeting, bathroom, etc. All in all, I recommend it if you're staying in Alamosa on a budget or with pets.

An older motel that has had a recent face lift. Rooms were clean, beds firm and staff friendly. Added plus is it in walking distance of train and many good restaurants. Reasonable pricing doesn't hurt.

When I had a problem arise with my room and the cleaning staff the management was not helpful. The location is great, has potential to be very nice experience.
