If you loved the movie Psycho stay here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/16/09
For $200 a night I at least expected a coffee maker and a hair dryer. They did not even have an ice machine. The bathroom was a tiny closet that a larger person would have troubel even moving in. The shower leaked, was old and cracked and filled with mildew. The paint was peeling off the toilet seat. The door to the connecting room did not lock (we had to put a chair under the knob!!) The security latch was hanging off the wall on main door which you also had to slam several times to get it to shut. The bedding was old, stained, and smelly. The whole room had a horrible smell to it. You could hear every noise in the place. Our neighbors screamed and fought all night and no one even answered the phone at the front desk when we called to complain! All in all do not stay here. I know prices in Breck are high but come on! This was a $30 a night truck stop room or something out of a horror flick.

DONT GO HERE
By Jenna, 12/01/08
This was a horrible place. It was extremely noisy until all hours of the night. Hotel staff doesnt care. No blow dryers or coffee makers. No hot tub on property. Thermostat doesnt work. Top floor is a permanent apartment rented out to locals and they are up and loud at all hours of the night with no consideration of hotel guests. I had to call security every single night i was there and nothing worked. dont come here if you want a good night's sleep.

Great value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/08/08
My son and I came to Breckenridge to ski in the daytime and stroll the lovely village at night. The Mountain Lodge was great for this. We walked to the lift to Peak 9. We walked to the village which started at the location of Mountain Lodge. In addition we had clean accomodations,a bed for each of us, plenty of towels and toiletries, a comfortable lodge/fireplace and a good continental breakfast. All this for under $100 (before taxes). The accomodations are somewhat spartan, not the type of room that you want to spend all day. but on a limited budget - excellent. I would gladly stay here again.

Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/28/08
dirty rooms full of animal hairs, very dry air, shower too cold, restaurant overpriced for its food quality. On the good side: nice employees and fantastic location.

Awful experience!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/26/08
The room was filthy, shower curtain had urine stains (!!), carpet is shabby and torn out, no internet connection, no hairdryer, no ice cleanup around the hotel. All of this for ~200$ per night!

Only for the budget traveler.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/02/07
I stayed here several years ago, and unless you are trying to save money and don't mind an extremely basic, dingey room, don't bother! True, it's probably the cheapest place in town to stay, but you get what you pay for. And don't be fooled by the nice exterior: the rooms looked old as could be. Also, the noise was terrible, you could hear everyone, and EVERYTHING they did, if you know what I mean. On the plus side, it was a good location, though more of a trek to the slopes then they would lead you to believe.

the best vaule for the money
By Mical, 02/26/07
Not to say this is the best hotel in breakenridge because it's not. However if you are in breakenridge for the ski, hiking, or just checking out the town this is the hotel for you. Compare to all other hotels in breck this will save you about $160.00 night, which you can use to go out everynight your their. trust me you will need just about that much just to go out for dimner and drinks their.

Don't stay here!!!
By Shan, 02/19/07
The rooms are so small that if you have more than one person in this room you have to almost crawl over them just to get around. The walls are also very thin that you can hear everything that is going on outside and in the room next to you. For what they charge in prices this hotel is not worth the money. Also watch your credit card statement b/c this hotel charged my card for charges that still have yet been explained to me and we paid for our room with my husbands credit card not mine. To sum it all up...Don't stay here.

Not bad for a skiing getaway
By Evgenii, 12/01/06
We've got a very good ski/stay deal for Thanksgiving with this hotel. But later we were put off by some bad hotel reviews. I have to say, it's not that bad, as some people describe. Not a luxurious accommodation, but not devoid of charm either. We stayed in the back building, 2-Queen bed room. These rooms have been painted recently and have a decent carpet. Compact size, but not claustrophobic. Pros: - friendly staff - they even allowed 2 pm check out, so we could ski in the morning - a very decent breakfast included, starting 7 am - rustic real wooden furniture and exterior - instantaneous hot water in the shower - clean - good location: main street, shuttle stop and rental shop nearby - view of the ski areas from the window - good price Cons: - some noise problem (you hear folks passing by) - not exactly a walking distance from lifts, when in ski boots (use the shuttle, unless you rent or store equipment at the lifts) - thermostat is capricious, and so is the toilet flush - no coffeemaker or hairdryer in the room - hot tub is somewhere else Overall, I was pleased with my stay there and would recommend it, if you get a good deal and probably not more than 3 people per room.
