Last Resort Hotel

Like the title says, this was only hotel that had an available room so I had no choice but to stay there given that it was so close to UCLA(where I was visiting). I rented a standard Queen/Queen - the drapes reeked of cigarette smell(I was not notified that this was a smoking room when I booked my stay here), the bathroom door didn't close/lock, the closet door only opened to a 30 degree angle because the bed was in the way(I had to move it myself), and the AC was irritably loud.
There is no way anybody can get a good night's rest here. The building is on Santa Monica (very close to Westwood), meaning there's constant traffic at all hours of the day. There was a car alarm that kept going off. The room was stuffy, but couldnt turned on the AC for long periods of time because it was so darn loud and I couldn't leave the window open due to security reasons. It's not in the best area in terms of safety, stayed awake most of the night wondering if that was my own car alarm being set off.
Overall, I would give this hotel a zero for cleanliness(if only I could), noise level...don't stay here unless you have absolutely nowhere else to stay and if your budget is less then $120 a night. I paid about $105 for my room, there are other place in the area for around $130. Just book early!!!
As mentioned earlier, perfect location, but lousy everything else. I would not stay here ever again. If I had to do it over, I would book at a nicer hotel, even if it is a little farther away(there are some great ones by the LAX airport, around the same price just that it's ~8-9 miles away) Lessons learned on my part. If you don't believe me or would like to see just how horrible the place is, be my guest. I'll be looking forward to reading your review.
