Did I stay at the same hotel?
By ,
Some of the reviews I've read for this hotel have been horrendous. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We visited LA for three days after a visit to New Zealand. Travelling with our offspring who are in their 20s. Rooms and bedding were very clean. No sign of any bugs all the time we were there. Didn't like the smell when we first entered our room but soon realised after visiting the local 7-11 that it was fresh coffee (don't tend to get that in England). The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The Manager was a very friendly helpful chap. On the second night had a problem with our neighbours partying until 4.00am (ruined any plans that we had for the following day). Kids went off to Disneyland without us because we were so tired. As soon as I mentioned it at reception they offered us another room immediately and couldn't apologise enough. Neighbourhood appeared safe enough. Just kept to the main roads at night - we have to do that in London now. Went out every evening and never had a problem. So close to Hollywood Boulevard and the Grauman's Theatre where there are great restuarants and shops. Excellent eating places and shopping all around the hotel. We were very impressed and surprised by the breakfast after reading the reviews. We were offered cereal, fresh fruit, pastries, four choices of excellent coffee, toast, two choices of juice, fresh bagels with an abundant choice of cream cheese and preserves. Much more than you would expect from a hotel of this star rating. We had a much worse breakfast in Auckland staying at a top hotel. Thank you Days Inn for a very comfortable stay

Not likely to return...

The water was cold for every shower and the shower itself was extremely loud, the room was hot, and we had our share of loud, 3:00 a.m. drunken neighbors.

Would stay there again
By ,
I was at this hotel from November 5th, until November 13th, 2005. It was a great hotel for the price. I was in LA for the Screenwriter's Expo held at the LA Convention Center that weekend, and came in to see the last performances at the Matrix Theater of "Honour". I am a friend of one of the performers. I went to the LA Convention Center, NBC Studios to see "Ellen", Paramount Studios to see a taping of "Out of Practice" with Henry Winkler, the Matrix Theater, and hiking off of Mulholland Drive. The hotel was within 10 and 15 minutes driving time from all of those locations. There is a small shopping center right across the street, with a grocery store, a Chinese buffet, and a Quisno! You have a small refrigerator in your room, so that works out fine. The breakfast bar only consist of cereal, coffee, toast, and donuts, or Honeybun. That's all. No juice or fancy pastries. You can get that at the grocery store. There is a small diner attached to the hotel that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All kinds of clothing store in the next block for the ones who like to shop, and I shopped at the Second Chance Closet, which was a second hand clothing store right next door to the hotel. I found more nice clothes for an exceptional bargin. Was in that store everyday. I got 3 skirts, one pair of pants, a sweater, a lace top, and a very nice quilt jacket. All under $6.00. And if you saw me in them, you would think I paid top dollar for them. The hotel was clean and the service was very nice. It's not a 5 star hotel, so the people who gave this hotel bad reviews wanted a 5 star hotel for a small price. I never saw one roach or any bugs at any time. The hotel was very clean. I'm planning on staying here again when I come back for the Screenwriter's convention next year. Oh, no internet connection for you computer nuts.

ROACH MOTEL
By ,
This place is terrible, our first night there we found roaches in the room, I went to the front desk and complained and the guy actually thought we brought the roaches with us. They put us in another room, the smell was terrible. The area is horrible, not safe if you're traveling alone. We arrived Sunday evening drove to California from Texas was very tired when we got there only stsyed that night, the next day we we're gone. Stayed in a really nice hotel called the Farmer's Daughter.

ROACHES AND OTHER BUGS!
By ,
I thought because of the name Days Inn I could trust we would be in a clean environment. Well I thought wrong and will never again stay at a Days Inn because of this expeirence. When we first arrived, from all outside appearances the place was clean. We even commented how there was a cute little diner attached to one end of the motel and thought we'd dine there for breakfast. Well we ended up only staying an hour before demanding our money back. Walking into the room I noticed right away how cheap, seedy and dirty it was. And I am not a high standard person by any means. I knew right away we would be sleeping on top of the covers, but thought we'd stick it out anyway. I turned on the A/C to have a spider fly out at me, which I could semi-deal with. Then there was the cockroach that crawled across the floor in the bathroom that made me call the front desk. I asked for my money back and said I wanted to leave. He said I would be charged the first night because we'd been in the room for more than 45 minutes, but he would offer us another room. Well where there is one cockroach there are more and I was not staying. When I started to get upset he became adjitated and said he'd call me back. Well then a few more cockroaches showed up and I realized there was a humming noise coming from the walls, which I assume was because the walls were infested. We just happend to be two rooms away from the diner by the way.... I immediately called the front desk and threatened to call the police or the housing athorities if he made me pay for the room. I got my money back and still itch at the memory.

Pathetic Service and overcharged
By ,
What pathetic service. Had booked online but was advised no booking. Even listening to a phone conversation where they stated that they didnt have a booking for someone. Added - Overcharged credit card by $40. This is fraud.
