Vagabond Inn Ventura, Ventura

My husband stayed here for a month on business and never had any problems. When I came out for the week I was very pleased. Comfortable beds and great housekeeping. Our belongings were never bothered. It is an older motel but decent and clean. The cafe attatched has good food for great prices. Behind the motel is a footpath bridge that will take you to the pier for a great view of the ocean. Great location next to many dining establishments and near main street. We would defintaley stay again. oh there is a train that comes through but I do not recall it being very loud or ever bothering me.

I think fondly of this place. Right in the middle of town and also allows pets which can be hard to find.

During our stay for the Ventura dog shows we were getting ready in the am when i noticed a man standing in the bathroom window who apparently had been watching my friend and I drees and show that am. We notified the office and I of coarse went to the alley way to chase the man. No luck. The office staff could have cared less and were more busy chatting on the phone with friends ect. Same thing happened to several people that entire weekend. No security what so ever. The rooms were just ok. I am sure my dogs beds are more comfortable than the beds. The resteraunt is close and friendly. The beach which was nearby. There is a grass area to potty your dogs as well as the park nearby. But not really worth the 179 a night for the weekend dog show rates!

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at this hotel! I think my only wish for improvement would be that the pool were warmer. We were able to walk to the beach, a variety of places to eat and shop. There was a small park within a block. The post office was also near. It was a great place to get a 'feel' for California. There was even a Vegan Restaurant close! (I don't think there are any of those in Indiana!) We had breakfast at the Vagabond Restaurant, the pancakes were great! We had the lunch buffet at Ruby's Mexican Grill! It was fabulous! We enjoyed a late night snack at Ralph's Pizza. Our room had a fridge and a microwave. The room was clean, and the beds were queen sized and firm.
