Residence Inn Costa Mesa Newport Beach, Costa Mesa

My 4 yr old daughter walked from our room to my parents room (about 5 feet from staircase to staircase) as I watched from our door the whole time. Apparently my parent's neighbors (2 grown men) notice me. They called her BY HER NAME & tried to get her to go into their room! Thank God she didn't! There was a soccer tournament going on nearby & the hotel was filled with young families with kids all about our children's ages. So we called the front desk to let them know what happened & the man @ the front desk said that they were international business men who frequently stayed @ their hotel & he "knew" that they were good people & would never hurt anyone. Please keep in mind that they never bothered to talk to, smile @ or even look @ anyone else in our family (10 of us all together, 6adults 4 kids). He went on & on about them but all I got out of what he said is that they spend a lot of money @ their hotel & he didn't want them offended in any way. My family is VERY upset that this wasn't taken seriously! For the record~they were 30 something middle eastern men in room # 821

Thanks to this place we had the worst trip ever. Ruined our New Years trip. Outgoing phone lines were down for 2 days causing us to miss both family and business gatherings. The key cards needed renewing after the first day causing needless trips to the lobby. The toilet lid broke almost causing my lady to fall on the tile. Thats really what a woman on cruches needs! This causes us to be late ot our New Years dinner with friends while the toilet gets fixed. At this point we cancel the rest of our stay. Upon checkout we were not able to get a printed statement of charges because "the printer is down". They said it would be emailed. Now I am home and NO email because they need the printer working to email the statement. Soo now I wait for the bill to see if the charges are accurate or if the day manager, who would not idetify herself and did nothing but make sad faces about it all, is going to pad her paycheck with fake charges. We will be in the same area this next week and we have made reservations elsewhere this time.

the hotel was great. the room was great. the food was great. the pool was great. the service was great. i would stay here again.

The value for the money is here! While I stayed at the Hyatt and Westin my daughter and son in law stayed here. Free internet, parking and breakfast struck me right off as big pluses. You certainly don't get that at the other places. The room while a bit smaller was very adequate and had a great desk. The furniture was very adequate but a step down from the 4 star. If you seek value this is it.
