Staff is very helpful and friendly. Great value and excellent location. Our deluxe room was spacious with a great view. Delightful stay. We will definitely tell our friends about it and come back ourselves!!

This was not a fun trip, but a medical necessity. Given that, the hotel offered a peaceful retreat with staff that aimed to please. The breakfast offerings were more than adequate, cereals, bagels, breads, fruits, juice, coffee, teas, & cookies. This was repeated for afternoon teas. The hotel is located across from Golden Gate Park and within a cute neighborhood that offers many & varied dining opportunities from McDonalds to nice Italian fare. The staff were accommodating with requests, the room was clean, and I would go again.

I arrived to the hotel at 10PM and was told, "Oh, by the way, we don't have a room for you. I think a pipe burst, or something." They had found a room for me at the Great Motor Inn on the Great Highway but could not offer me taxi money to get there or to my conference downtown the next day. The receptionist was relunctant to call any of the hotels within walking distance saying "I think we already called them" and "They ususally don't answer their phones this time of night." Overall, the receptionist was very casual and unhelpful regarding the situation. Fortunately, a friend offered me a sofa to sleep on for the night.

We stayed while bringing our son to USF. The staff was very friendly and informative on quaint little neighborhood restaurants with very good food. Although the hotel is basic, it is authentic San Franciscanand the best way to enjoy Golden gate Park and the surrounding area including the Haight district.

The Queen Cupola Room which looks lovely from the outside, is actually located on the corner of a 4 lane highway and a 2 lane road. The traffic light is right over your bedroom window. The noise from the street, the loud bar next door-that's open 'til 2 am and the Harley shop across the street made sleeping almost impossible. I asked to change rooms but the only ones available were $315 a night. I spent 4 nights sleeping on the bathroom floor at $185 a night! In addition, the front desk staff accidently cancelled by Super Shuttle reservation to get to the airport. The only thing decent were the maids who are friendly and keep the room clean. The free breakfast was okay. Never again.
