Hotel Without Heat
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/26/06
There were several major problems with this Sheraton. One: there was no heat available until the temperature went below 58 degrees, so the room was very cold. We asked twice for a space heater, twice a space heater was promised, but no space heater ever materialized. Finally the heat went on.
The other major problem: the room (1102) was old, dingy, worn, stained, and in dire need of refurbishing. It had once had a mini bar, but it was now empty and the door dangling without a handle. At least the room was quiet (unlike one of the other reviews).
At one point the elevator did not work, or at least did not stop on the 11th floor, and guests had to use the service elevator.
On the positive side, the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, and the hotel is very well located right next to Universal Studios. But the Hilton is too, and it looked much nicer--at least from the outside!
