What a beautiful hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/10/09
I am a travel agent and just took a small group there and used the Hotel Corque for our overnight accomodations. The staff was superb....friendly and helpful. The room was amazing...completely updated and clean and without a doubt one of the nicest hotel rooms I have stayed in. Continental breakfast was good and the location of the hotel to the shops and restaurants was perfect. My entire group could not believe how beautiful the rooms were!

No A/C in hot room
By csifishguy, 11/11/08
The room as nice but for the money it was not worth it, the A/C did not work and it was almost 80 in our room, when I told the desk all they said is that they would let the manager know, most good hotels would have offered a different room or some kind of discount for this type of problem. I would not recomend

GET ALL THE FACTS FIRST!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/27/07
We were originally planning to stay at the Alisal but there was no room and the woman recommended the SI. It took us about 10 calls to keep checking on a cancellation for the saturday night (although they said they'd call us - should've been our first clue!!) but in the end we got a room. From the website I expected a room with a balcony and a view and a NON smoking hotel. Let me clarify that right away - people were smoking by the pool, on their balconies and out front when we arrived... this was more like a college dorm than a nice hotel. We should've run before we checked in but we were tired and ready to settle down for the weekend. When we arrived (on time) we were told our room would be on the main floor overlooking the parking lot - with two small kids I said that would not work so they put us on the 2nd floor overlooking the pking lot. The room was tired and claustrophic and the beds are brutal. Worse it's like the staff are all missing a consideration chip.... clearly no one was concerned that our room wasn't ready when we checked in - the beds were not finished being made and there was garbage in the garbage cans. There were 2 weddings the weekend we were there and it felt like we were at frosh week in Daytona - partiers in the parking lot at 2am yelling, the next night buses idilling for 30 min. every hour dropping off wedding guests - do you think they might have had the bus wait on the street? no they had it stop right in front of the hotel - affecting all of us in rooms overlooking the pking lot.

Great place to stay in Solvang
By Olga, 04/24/07
We really liked this hotel. Very centrally located to Solvang Village and next door is a restaurant with very good food and service. Also, continental breakfast was served there as well. Rooms are bit outdated, but balcony was large and provided a great view. We will definitely stay there again. Very quite and peaceful stay. Our 8 month old enjoyed the pool (which does need to be heated a bit more to be considered a heated pool) but overall very clean and affordable. We did ask for a later check out (1pm) however they couldnt accomodate due to having to pay the maids overtime??.

Too expensive
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/13/06
Paid $209.00 a night. Basic motel room. No refrig. or microwave as indicated. Room was very clean but that is all I can say positive. Toilet didn't flush properly, bed was very broken down, The lobby is very comfy and cozy. meadows restaurant is excellent. Would I stay here again? No way!

Amazing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/06
At first the location was a little hard to find but the few minutes of trafic and confusion were worth the wonderful experience of an unforgettable journey. The service provided was oustanding, being a usual traveller I am use to comparing hotels. This was one of THE best service I have ever received. It provided a extremely good value for the price paid, the level of cleaning care was excellent, the staff members were friendly and courteous. I never had such a great time thank you, I can never say it enough times. See you soon

I Love Solvang's Royal Scandinavian Inn!
By Wilma, 06/08/05
This delightful country inn has it all: ambiance, beautiful vistas of rolling hills, just steps away from browsing Solvang's charming shops, superb decor, and a staff which is friendly, helpful, and attentive! The lobby is beautiful with burnished wood beams and banisters, reminiscent of (in my imagination)a Scandinavian country lodge. Each time we've stayed there our room has had charming detail and been very comfortable. Included was a sumptuous breakfast buffet in the inn's fine restaurant. It's very easy to find--just 1/8 of a mile off the two-lane highway which cuts through town and the scenic Santa Ynez Valley. We left our car at the inn and walked the half block to the shopping district that has made Solvang famous. Exploring one afternoon, we continued down our road and immediately had the joy of winding through the hills with the live oak trees' forming a canopy overhead. We saw deer and rabbits, and found a rural park where we walked to a waterfall. One can tour lavender farms or go on a winery tour. Excellent restaurants and delicious Danish pastries are within easy walking distance. We will definitely make the Royal Scandinavian an annual tradition!
