Me and my husband came from South Africa for a conference and stayed for 5 nights. It was very clean, we liked the fireplace and staff was very helpful. Its also centrally located which made travelling easy. We liked the refrigerator in the room. Some things that did bother us was that we could hear our neighbours snore! We also thought the breakfast was not really something special. It was the same everyday and we had to eat with plastic knives and forks and in a plastic plate!! We also thought it would have been nice just to have someone make you a nice warm breakfast with eggs, bacon and toast. Apart from it, we had a very pleasant stay and it was good value.

Great price

Not fancy, but the room was clean and roomy. We had a balcony, fireplace, refrigerator and wet bar. It was very quiet. The continental breakfast was not fancy but enough to get by. The staff was very helpful. The place is near Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. Restaurants are across the street. We will certainly return.

Clean quiet room

The room was nice, a little small but very clean. The gas fireplace was a nice touch. The staff was friendly and helpful. The person who checked us in even took the time to give us directions and gave us some great ideas on where to get a delicious dinner. Don't expect anything fancy but it's well worth the money. We would definitely go back.

Great Value!

This hotel is being unjustly underrated. It is very quaint and a great value! The employees offered great service and a generous continental breakfast was included. The room was very comfortable and clean ... and the fireplace was a nice touch. The only thing I would have like to have seen included that wasn't was internet connection. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay at a great price!

An over priced, pretentious dump.

We have just been ripped off. This is a terrible place.This is a remodeled motel. At $400 per night It is absurdly over priced. This is like paying $400 to stay at a motel 6. The rooms are small and stuffy. There is a thermostat on the wall. We called and they tried to tell us how to turn on the air conditioning. They had the gall to tell us the rooms are stuffy. When we couldn't make the thermostat turn on the air conditioning, they sent someone to the room. The person who came to the room told us there is no air conditioning. They immediately brought us a fan, they clearly are used to people complaining about this. You can't open the windows because there are mosquitoes, but there are not screens. The appointments are mediocre. It's on a busy, noisy street. You are better off sleeping in your car than staying here. Caveat Emptor.

We had a wonderful night at this motel. The room was clean and very nice, and the free breakfast was delicious! I wish we could have spent a few more nights here.

A Nice Road Trip Hotel

Very nice people. They upgraded our room without us asking. Now we had a fireplace and a balcony. Free Continental Breakfast- the selection of items was just right for me. Nothing special but ok. The only thing I didn't like the pool was very cold, it was supposed to be heated. Very clean room

Great Value and Place

The price was good and the location too. It was only a short drive to downtown and the proximity to the Denny's and shopping mall was nice. The contiental breakfast is nothing special, but it's got plenty of bakery goodies and others. The pool is and spas are great too. The rooms could be a little bit bigger and nicer, but for the money, I think it's the best value in the area. If your trying to save money but still want a good hotel, this is the place.

I highly recommend this place

We booked thru expedia at $76 a night for two Q's, "garden patio" and refrigerator (no microwave but we could use the one in the breakfast area anytime). Very clean, great shower. We were in Rm 115 which was a very quiet location. The staff was super friendly. Very good continental brkfst with many choices. The 'garden patio' ain't much tho! Just a 3x10 space with some plants, a tall wood fence, and 2 plastic chairs. But the outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi was very nice and clean and surrounded in well maintained gardens and privacy fencing. Located near two main streets for easy access to monterey. Fresh baked chocolate-chip cookies every night too!

brand new best price around by far .it has a few bugs, but what dosen,t when its brand new .we will return again soon.evry thing is in within walking distance ,if your any kind of walker at all. it makes monterey affordable to visit
