Poor service, Expensive experience

The recently renovated hotel was nicely furnished and decorated. The room itself was nice but when you are paying $199 a night and not single request is fulfilled by the staff you then it all turns into a very disappointing experience.
On the first morning, the hotel decided to clean or repair my room windows starting at 7am. Opened the door to the terrace and there was ladder with workers on it. They apologized saying that they didn't know there was someone in room!
Later on a stranger was drinking his beer and smoking his cigar right next to our window... when asked for a different room, they said that the hotel was overbooked. Later that day they found and reserved a room for us -- a downgrade. But a few hours later when we were ready to move into the new room, once again, it was not available.
Finally after giving up with the hotel service during the first two nights, our last night came with a visit by a rodent. Its midnight and the hotel could not accommodate another room, while we were waiting at the reception for the security guy to "scare it away", the hotel receptionists kindly offered us a bottle of water for a buck fifty!
Could be bad luck, one thing for sure I'm not betting on them again.
