Royal Copenhagen Inn, Solvang

While we didn't get royal treatment at Royal Copenhagen Inn we like it there. We, aren't royalty and so it is okay. We were able to stay in a large, clean room with our dog. Things are quiet and comfortable at RCI. Because we go July 4 we can merely go out front of the motel and watch the fine little parade Solvang has. Royal Copenhagen is in the middle of the Danish Village part of Solvang and is decorated in a Danish motif. Closeness to the shops and restaurants and it's central location is ideal. The room rate is great considering location, size of rooms and condition of this establishment in general.

My girlfriend and I stayed in a room overlooking the pool. Room was clean, quiet, and the air conditioning worked well. The secret garden in the back was nice and relaxing. The Inn is located right in the middle of town, there was free continental breakfast which was also nice. No it's not a 5 star establishment, but they had a room for a good price that we were able to get on Sunday night on Labor day weekend! Front desk personal were friendly and helpful. All in all, we had a good stay.

Stayed here overnight and it was great! Pool was sparkling clean as well as our room! Staff was VERY friendly and helpful! It's located right in the middle of town so we could Walk everywhere! The room was clean and quiet and we would stay there again!

I recently stayed here on 8/29/08 for 2 nights, and it was really nice and cozy. Its not a 4 star place by any means, but it gets the job done. The rooms are bigger than your average hotel room. Its got a lil dining table for breakfast. Good sized bathrooms. AC unit worked great as it was a pretty hot weekend.The only thing I didnt like was the size of the tv....it was tiny. Also on their website, it states you get continental breakfast & passes to the royal oaks winery tasting room and thats not true, or hasnt been updated. You get Free coffee & danish from across the street at the bakery. You get passes to a smaller tasting room. Other than that it was fine. Also there is no Wifi there or any type of internet access.

You cannot beat this place. It's right in the middle of it all. Quaint and cozy. I had read reviews before we went and some were not so good. The rooms DO appear a little on the plain side, but that's because they are so big and roomy. I've seen apartments smaller than our room which was #121. We got our free wine tasting and contenintal breakfast (which were awesome) and really enjoyed ourselves. This was a suprise for my wife and she loved it. We will definitely be back again and again.

We found this hotel on a pet frinedly site-I have a 90lb hound! We were given wine tasting passes to a local wine shop, and a two-for-one dinner coupon to a local restaurant as well. All for $80! I will always stay here and I can't recommend it highly enough. The rooms were a good size with a large bathroom. They also have an off-leash area for dogs called the Secret Garden. We were able to walk around the entire town easily from our hotel. The staff was very friendly from the time I booked the reservation till we checked out. We are already planning a trip back!

We especially liked the layout and decor of this motel. Each pair of rooms (up and downstairs) are in a different type of building. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and touring Solvang, Santa Barbara, and the surrounding wineries. We will return to this motel again!

I have stayed at the Royal Copenhagen Inn several times. The Hotel is located right on the main road in Solvang. You feel private, because you actually have a whole house to yourself. At the reception, they were very nice!!

The information found on the internet regardig this hotel was not what we experienced when we stayed at the hotel. The staff at the front desk was helpful and friendly. The room was a disappointment. The headboard was not bolted to the bed. The window was broken and would not stay up by itself and could have seriously hurt a person if you were not careful. The in-room refrigerator was on the floor and the cover to the remote control was missing. The rug was dirty as was the vanity stool. The extra blankets in the room were soiled as well and we did not receive a bath rug until the third full day of the stay. We will be back to Solvang but will not return to this hotel.

My husband booked this room as a surprise for mothers day, we asked for a pet room as we have a 4 pound Bichon, the carpet is pee infested, our blanket had prior dog hair in them, and the smell was so bad, the first night I just dealt with it, by morning we were all sick !! I called a few others and we ended up going to check out another and it was fine. Call all of them in town before just going to this one, others take pets and the carpet is not smelly and stained,we would not even walk in the room after we took a shower with out our shoes. I asked to look at some other rooms before we left and they just got worse.
