Hotel Current, Long Beach

I'm not a complainer but this hotel is not good at all. I've stayed in Motel 6 and it is way better in every aspect. After having us move three times from our room, the room smelled awful and the service did not seem to care at all for the inconvenience. It should go out of business soon.

We went on the Carnival Cruise last week and stayed here for 2 nights. We got in late, and when I asked for a downstairs room, or a handicap room (I had forgotten to request)they upgraded us to a jacuzzi room on the bottom floor. It is not the most glamorous nor the most pristine inn, but definitely worth the value, especially if you book it online. It was so very easy to leave our vehicle and feel safe about it. They have round the clock security and let you leave the vehicle in the front by the office. The driver was there within 15 minutes of us calling to let him know we had arrived back in port.

First off, the staff are incredible. Very nice, professional and extremely curteous. Yes the pool is really nice and breakfast was good. BUT none of these warrant a 3 star rating. The room did have a very weird pungent smell, the bathroom had a fabulous MOLD and Rust collection going on and the carpet was sticky (yes STICKY!) We even found that there was a scary red stain on one of the "clean" towels apparently someone had already tried to wash it, which to me is outrageous. Why would you give you guests a funky, permenantly stained towel,THROW IT AWAY or use it as a rag! I don't believe they steam clean their carpets which could lead to massive crud being built up and harvested in the fibers, PLUS you dont know what people do in hotel rooms why would you NOT clean the carpets. The only way I could figure why people gave it a great review was because they probably had the "better" housekeeping staff, because my area was seriously slumming!

The service here was excellent!It was top rate for what you pay. The location was very safe and the contiental breakffast was excellent. It is no Hilton, but it good if you are going there to visit near Cal State Long Beach.

The first room my 3 year old son and I were given stunk big time. We asked for another and we given a room that smelled slightly better. My son threw a fit and said "We can not stay here cause it stinks." Since I didn't get much sleep the night before, I decided it was better to say than get in a car accident. The next day we checked out and went to another hotel that didn't stink. My clean clothes stunk so bad I had to wash them before I could wear them. I stayed at another guesthouse location before and had a similar experience.

i loved the pool it was always clean. the rooms also were nice and clean. its close by everything we need like Subway, Quiznos, a mexican restaurant, and many more. the free food for breakfast is Great!!!! everybody needs to eat some of the food. i coudnt find anything wrong with this perfect hotel.
