Love this hotel!!!
By ,
We recently stayed at this hotel for 6 days and I have to tell you how wonderful it is. First of all, the rooms were clean, the hotel itself was very clean and the people at the front desk were very helpful with directions or anything we needed. They offer a continental breakfast and they made it fresh for us when we order and bring it to our room each morning! During the week, they offered delicious chocolate chip cookies and coffee. I was impressed with the whole idea of this, a place to sit and books and magazines to look through while we relaxed in the afternoon. The hotel is situated right in the middle of La Jolla Village and right near the Cove swimming area and the seals! We didn’t want to have any plans or any commitments during our stay, but there was no shortage of things to do right near the hotel. Some people might think that visiting Southern California means lots of traffic, big crowds, kids screaming, amusement parks, crowded beaches and restaurants with too much to do and too little time to do it in. Sure, there is lots to see in San Diego, but if you also just want to get away for a little bit and take a vacation from your life, check out La Jolla. The La Jolla Inn was a peaceful respite for us. We slept in, wandered around, ate well and went home relaxed wishing we could pack up the sundeck and ocean view to take home with us.

home away from home
By ,
My wife and I escaped to La Jolla for our 18th anniversary. It was a surprise for my wife and the front desk took care of arranging flowers in the room before we arrived. The entire inn is welcoming and warm and is in a perfect location. We parked the car in the parking garage and never thought of it again. There are lots of great restaurants and bars within a block of the hotel. The La Valencia hotel has live music in their Lounge the night we were there. We also walked down to watch the seals and passed by many great art galleries. We didn’t even need to leave La Jolla Village to experience everything we wanted to see. Wildlife, great dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner, entertainment, exercise (lots of walking, big hills and kayaking); arts and culture all with beautiful, sunny weather and a happy, welcoming feel to the whole place. After our day of touring, we were so happy to come back to the beautiful room with great feather pillows, a balcony to catch the sunset and cookies and coffee in the afternoon. They have a beautiful sundeck with heaters where we enjoyed some wine in the evening after it cooled down a little! The hotel offers free pastries and coffee which they deliver right to the room. There is lots to see in San Diego, but we really enjoyed just hanging out in La Jolla. We are already planning our return trip. This is not a bed and breakfast; it is a home away from home.

great escape
By ,
After staying here we read some of the negative reviews and we're completely dumbfounded. We don't understand some of them and they seem way harsh! We stayed in room #10 which was a small cute room that had a balcony with a view of the water. We paid $179 a night for this room. This hotel has a great spot centrally located to all of the places we went. The people who work at this hotel are real nice too. Our housekeeper kept our room clean. We asked the girl working at the front desk named Julie if they had any more of their delicious cookies on hand. She replied that they didn't but she went to get two cookies from their breakfast area and brought them to our room! We never write reviews on places we've stayed but this is a special hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic Surprise
By ,
We were concerned by some of the negative reviews on this hotel before we had booked and we can say that they are all false. After staying at this great inn we were all smiles from ear to ear when we had checked out. This hotel truly has the best location! It's next door to the super swanky pink hotel (La Valencia) for a quarter of the price! Also; we fell in love with our maid, Mina who attended to our room. She was super sweet and also greeted us when she saw us. We also loved the cleanliness throughout the hotel including our room. This was our first time staying at this hotel but it won't be our last. Thanks trip advisor!

What a fantastic hotel
By ,
Stayed with my family and friends at this hotel and had a fantastic time. The town of La Jolla is really cool. There are a lot of shops, restaurants and fun activities to do. I suggest doing the Kayaking in the old part of La Jolla called La Jolla Shores. We rented our kayaks from La Jolla Kayak and it was a no hassle experience. For dining you can't go wrong with any of the restaurants. However; we loved the Cheese Shop at La Jolla Shores. We ate there after Kayaking. If we're back in San Diego then the La Jolla Inn is our hotel. I suggest you give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

La Jolla Inn delivered
By ,
Our family and extended family have planned this trip to San Diego for quite some time. We didn't want an expensive place because of the economy but wanted a hotel with an excellent location, value and service. The La Jolla Inn made all of us very happy. The people who work at this hotel are extremely nice, sweet and genuine. You get the feeling that they actually care if you’re enjoying your stay with them. We had a very nice private balcony room with a lovely ocean view. We had a problem with the seagulls wanting to eat our food both times we we're on our balcony and on the hotel's sundeck. Other than this we don't have any complaints and recommend the La Jolla Inn.

great hotel
By ,
The La Jolla Inn gave my friends and I exactly what we were looking for. It's a cute hotel with tons of charm and character. The hotel's location was superb! It's in the middle of everything you would want to do. We biked, kayaked, snorkeled and had a picnic all within a short distance from the hotel. You can rent snorkel gear and bikes at their convenience store and they have the entire snorkel set. Mask, fins and snorkels. We bought sandwiches at a great little shop called Girard Gourmet which is located on Girard street. Make sure to get a black & white cookie when your there! We had our picnic at a park which was located at the bottom of the hotel's hill. We rented our kayaks from a place called La Jolla Kayak which was located in La Jolla Shores. I suggest driving there because otherwise it's a long walk. There's also some decent shopping in the village of La Jolla which is surrounded by this hotel. I feel you can do everything you want within a budget and still get a lovely experience. I do however suggest asking the front desk for suggestions when you arrive like we did.

worked for me
By ,
This was my first time staying at this hotel and I look forward to coming back. I enjoyed this hotel for it's no hassle approach to easy check in, check out. Clean comfortable room with everything I needed. Comfortable bed, hairdryer, iron/board and fridge. They have a computer center so I was able to do some work there. I was able to print my boarding pass, made reservations and checked my emails. They charged me $10 to use their computer but it was good for my entire stay. I asked the hotel if they accepted frequent flyer miles. They said no but I was able to sign up with them for a corporate account agreement because I'm in San Diego once in a while for business. Like I said I was happy with my stay and I think you'll be happy with yours. I give it a thumbs up!

La Jolla Inn Worked For Us!
By ,
I found this hotel by searching the internet for my wife and I to stay at in La Jolla. The La Jolla Inn was just as described. They DO have the best location in La Jolla! They do have a very nice FREE breakfast. The staff was good but I believe they had a new hire checking us in but we didn't have a problem. The hotel parking is FREE but it's just as described a couple of blocks away but so what. Some of the reviews we read on this hotel was treated so unfairly it seems. If it's FREE who cares? If they had charged then that's a different story. You need to check out some of the art galleries in the area. There's a ton of them and you get to see some great work on the local artists.

La Jolla Inn Is No Frills!
By ,
I wanted to give this hotel a try since I regularly come to San Diego on business and I was pleasantly surprised. The La Jollla Inn has the best location in La Jolla. I paid only $139 a night and found other hotels in the area charging way more. Some of the other hotels I found also charge for parking where as this hotel does not. The parking was a couple of blocks away but I didn't mind because it was free. The service was very good. I ordered my complimentary breakfast and it came to me in about 15 minutes. Checking in and out of this hotel was a breeze. The hotel recommended a great French restaurant called Forever Fondue at the same location to where the hotel parking is located. The restaurant wasn't open for lunch but I went there for dinner with a collogue of mine and we both enjoyed it. I recommend this hotel for the location, price and service. You won't be disappointed!
