8 reviews for Ramada Limited San Marcos, San Marcos
it was the most horrific experience
By Kay, 06/23/09
we came down from los angeles for a wedding in Escondido. So I thought it would be fine to stay here. NOOOOO. When we arrived, we were given a smoking room way in the back in a dark corner of the motel. When I asked to have my room change to non-smoking, I was told it would cost more, eventhough I had never booked a smoking roomand the place was deserted. I was then told that I would have to spend even more if I wanted to beds, which I had requested for on Hotwire. After this experience, I will never use Hotwire again or stay at a Ramada Express.

Horrible Hotel, Owner is an Ass!
By The Big Dumb Animal, 12/17/08
The first room I checked into the T.V. did not work, the second room had pubic hair on the bathroom door, mold growing on the shower, holes in the shower wall, the walls were filthy and the lamp was in pieces. I checked out a day early and had to pay for another room at a higher rate elsewhere. I made a complaint to the franchise and the owner and the owner only called to inform me that since I didn't stay my full reservation, he would be charging me full price instead of the discount internet fee. I am a chief engineer for Intercontinental Hotels Group and I am affiliated with the Holiday Inn. This hotel should be shut-down and the owner should take a class in customer service.

A real value!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/08
Our room was small but clean and had a slew of amenities, including a refrigerator, microwave, and a bright light in the updated bathroom. Although the motel is next to a freeway, we did not hear traffic, perhaps because of white noise from the air conditioner. The continental breakfast was a cut above many I've had elsewhere. There was fresh fruit and a do-it-yourself waffle maker, as well as a selection of three juices and cereals and breads/pastries. The breakfast room was quite inviting. Desk staff was pleasant and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience at this motel and would recommend it to others. We got a lot for our money!

Deceiving internet pictures
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/25/07
Checked in 7/16 and the King room we got was located in the back looking at trees seemed very unsafe. The coffee maker didn’t work; the light above TV was out. The carpet was very dirty and wearing socks which turned black within a couple hours of just being in the room. The wall paper in bathroom was peeling and the floor was just filthy tile. Called Front Desk for towels and clerk said she would have to get them which seemed I was a nuisance. Convenient locations for places close by. For the money I paid it still wasn’t worth the stay. And the pictures on the internet shows the hotel looking very nice and remolded which it wasn’t.

Comfortable, clean place to stay!
By Carrie, 06/20/07
We are staying 3 weeks in this Ramada Ltd and so far are very pleased. The room is plenty big enough for the two of us, though the bathroom is a bit small. The shower is nice with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Our room is on the far side of the hotel, so we have a small walkway with oleander bushes separating our view from whatever lies on the other side. When we first checked in, one of the lights was flickering, so on our way out to dinner we mentioned it to the staff. It was fixed by the time we returned. The free wireless internet is great, and we lugged one of our PC's along. We were able to set up our computer and have internet access from our room, which is great for keeping in touch w/ people and for looking up directions and such. The only major inconvenience is the hotel's location right off of San Marcos Blvd. It's a VERY busy road with lots of stop lights, so unless you are hopping right onto Highway 78, you'll spend 10-15 minutes getting out of the area. The plus side though, is that there is TONS of dining within 10 minutes and the freeway is very accessible. We can't hear the freeway from our room. All in all, a good place to stay for the money and I would definitely stay here again.

Value for the $$$$
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/06
+ is right off the freeway. (If freeway noise bothers you, ask for room close to restaraunt.) - Parking may not be close to your room.

clean rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/06
I don't know what the other reviews were talking about. I took my chance because I had to visit some friends. I found the place very clean and the staff very friendly. They offer me free wifi and my room got refrigerator/microwave. The only thing I might agree with the previous review the hotel is located next to the freeway but it makes it easy for me to get around.

Want a tiny room next to a freeway?
By Ryan, 04/02/04
The rooms in this hotel are the smallest I have ever seen, and the noise from the freeway right next to the hotel is unbearable.
