Really great hotel!
By ,
Overall this hotel is just really amazing. Our family has stayed here twice before and has never had a problem with anything. staff is very nice! They gave us a really great rate for the summer that we could not have gotten anywhere else! The rooms were clean, sometimes there would be sand tracked into the room and it didnt get cleaned up but it wasnt a big problem. This hotel is right near the beach! maybe a 2 minute walk outside the hotel. your right on the boardwalk and just have to walk down a ramp to get to the sand and water. Personally i love pacific beach. Its not the most clean of all the beaches and has a lot of seaweed because of the kelp beds right off the shore but its always been very calm and quiet towards this side of crystal pier. if you want a little more fun and action just head down the boardwalk about 5 minutes and you'll be on what i like to call the "party" side of the beach. There are tons of places to eat and drink all along the boardwalk. plenty of tourist shops as well! I will definitely continue to stay here as long as i travel to San Diego!

Best Beach Rental Ever
By ,
The Service was Grest. I had a room that had a Living Room Area with a Sofa that made into a bed. The staff were frendly and helpful in assisting us to select the room that would meet our needs. The beach was within walking distance, and the staff helped me to select the perfect Restaurant for our group. They went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. It doesn't get any better than this! I can't wait to visit them again.

Don't Blink, You may miss it
By ,
This cute little inn is located towards the end of PB. It is on the main beach walk but towards the family end of the beach. I enjoy this hotel out of all the luxury hotels I've stayed at in SD. The value is great and the rooms are new, cleaned and remodeled. The rooms are big, it has a smaill kitchenette or a little kitchen/storage area. It is a two minute walk out onto the beach walk where you have great beach access and great views, and you can practically taste the sea water in the air. It may be located towards the end of hotel row, but it's still close to all the good eateries and shopping. A 10 minute walk from Kono's and 15 from Joe's Crab Shack. Probably about 15 minute drive from Gaslamp District and 20 minute from SeaWorld. It's very close to everything and lots of stores and grocery stores to access everything you may need for a longer trip.

OK for the price
By ,
We stayed here for 2 nights and the first room they gave us, the shower backed up and over flowed, immediately!!! They said they couldn't fix it till 11 am!!! So we couldn't take a shower till then, finally they gave us a new room. They next room they gave us, was a newer room, but the carpet was still damp from being cleaned. They didn't ever offer us anything for all the inconvenience, we wasted for time going to the office and moving from one room to another. The breakfast is the worst, it's not really a breakfast at all, it's yesterdays leftover doughnut, skip it!!! Our room did have a partial ocean view. There were a few long term residents there who think they own the place and smoke right out in front of your room. The staff is lazy and doesn't care. The hotel is cheap for it's location.

Family Vacation
By ,
The location of this hotel was excellent. A twenty step walk down to the beach. Lots of shops and boutiques along the boardwalk. The lovely lady at the front desk gave us tickets so we were able to rent beach cruisers for the 5 of us for the whole day at a little place down the street for only 10 dollars each, a good price considering alot of other places that were charging much more. The pool is heated which is nice of course. The walls are like cement so you don't here you're neighbors although we did have problems for about half the time we stayed there with the noise outside our rooms keeping us up. People talking on the curb, knocking to get into rooms at 3:00 in the morning...ect. Bathrooms were updated and have marble. Every room has a microwave and a extremely noisy refrigerator which we unplugged every night before bed which was a hassle when we had brought home leftovers. Do not expect the complimentary breakfast to be outstanding, we ate out for breakfast but you could live on the coffee and danishes they had. This was an amazing hotel for the price. Nice staff and for the most part family friendly.

GREAT FOR WHAT IT IS
By ,
This a great place to drop your suite case and run to the beach. My wife and I took a long weekend to recharge our batteries and this hotel was the perfect way to do that. It is close to everything you need from food to nightlife. The staff there was really quite nice and very professional. I thought the room was nice, it looked like the bathrooms had recently been remodeled and the furniture in the room looked new also. I would bring my wife and two kids there again in a heartbeat. Its nothing fancy just a nice hotel near the beach, with really nice people.

A Wonderfull Experience!
lets start out with the Location... couldn't get much better than this. It takes about 2 min. to walk to the Pacific Ocean! Pacific Beach is such a charming beach town. There are tones of things going on, endless shops & resturaunts & this hotel is right in the heart of it all! I was impressed by our room wich was newley renovated & very nice, witch we didn't expect by seeing the outside. Overall the best part of our stay was the front desk staff. they provided the kind of service you would expect at a 4 star resort! Called taxi's, made dinner reservations, had our boarding passes printed and ready for us at check out. Me and my family will deffinatly be comming back here again.

Stayed for the wkend
By ,
we just returned from california where we stayed at the Pacific Shores in and would never stay there again. Stayed in room 42 and it's scary.. The smell was horrible, smelled like urine, floors felt dirty, slimmy, shower had rust, holes in the walls, faucets had been moved and holes never patched up. The hinges on the bathroom door were so rusted it looked like things were growing off of them. Could be a very nice place if the owners would put a lil money into remodeling. We did tell them when we checked out! We stayed out all day - Sea Worlds one day then the Zoo, so only slept there. Only GOOD THING.. very close to the beach, but there are alot of other places..stay somewhere else!! More for young kids who like to party!!! loud at night. I DO read reviews before booking a room and can not believe this place is getting 5 stars! iT'S not.....

Clean rooms, but expect to pay a deposit
By ,
The rooms here were cleaner than I expected for a (rated) 1 1/2 star hotel and the location is good (1/2 block from boardwalk / 3-4 blocks from Garnet). I did not, however, anticipate having a $50.00 deposit held against my card. I checked three days ago & have to call and find out why the funds are still 'pending' on my card. Good value - room with a fridge, clean and the beds were very clean but the deposit issue kind of irritated me.

Great Hotel near the beach!
By ,
Hotel was much nicer than expected (rated 2 stars on-line, but better than most 4-starts I've visited)! Unique bathroom fixtures and shower (marble floors even!), large, clean rooms, pleasant staff. I'd recommend this place to anybody visiting San Diego!
