The staff was great and one member was very helpfull "Amber" She was great on the phone with information. They are in walking range of the hospital. Room was very clean and a sliding glass door to the pool area. the pool was very nice and the hot tub was great. hosue keeping and service was great. I had no problems what so ever with my stay. THANKS for a job well done by the staff.

Best of 7

Stayed at 5 BW's and 2 other hotels in CA, this was the best of all of them and the second cheapest. Friendly staff, and the most amenities.

Good Stay
By Les, 04/25/07
The hotel was a pleasant sight when we rolled in late on our way to Las Vegas. I was a little concerned that our room was in the front part of the hotel and that there is a convenient store/gas station just out front. But, I must say I never heard any noise from outside. The room was accommodating, comfortable and peaceful that made for a great night’s sleep. Oh, I almost forgot… The TV was possessed and turned on and off a few times throughout the night. The room was clean along with the hotels amenities. There is a restaurant located within the hotel and it was a nice treat to have a good breakfast included with the room rate. The staff was a little rough around the edges, but all I needed was to check in so my interaction was very limited. I was happy with the room rate and felt like I got my monies worth. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

Bugs...Stay Away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/28/06
I went to this motel with no bumps and I left with half of my body covered in some kind of insect bite ( flea's, bed bugs who knows). I went right to the hospital and was told that they are insect bits. The motel staff was a joke. Told us that the room had been cleaned, Im not sure what they cleaned with....stay away. Oh and no internet connection

Okay for Bakersfield maybe
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/11/06
As my wife put it, there won't ever be a reason to come back. This is our 6th Best Western stay on this trip - only one other room came this close to being as old and not kept up. Unannounced construction at 8:00 AM right outside our door as, apparently, the staff was working on renovating a stairway: hammer drill and pounding. The pool area and gardens are a nice attempt, but the pool needs some work (grout, cleaning and patching) and could have used more chlorine. But it was large and warm. It looks like maybe BW is beginning to make some renovations and/or patches. Staff - only run in is that my wife went to the lobby for pool towels - the lady told her that they were at the pool and if they weren't, she should call the staff on the phone at the pool. My wife was frustrated because the towels WERE NOT there and when she tried the phone at the pool, it was dead. Wireless internet works - but didn't when we first got here. Most of the time the signal from our room is weak: 1/3 of what it could be. Ready to leave Bakersfield now.

Always a nice stay
By kdub420, 05/06/06
I've stayed at this hotel 3 different times now & always have had a pleasant stay. The room rate is unbelieveably moderate considering all you get which includes a full breakfast in the morning. The rooms are very clean w/ refrigerators, coffee makers, data ports & other great traveler amenities. The property has a beautiful courtyard with a pool/jacuzzi & a BBQ for your use. There's also a laundry facility on property. All in all it's a perfect half way stop when driving to or from Las Vegas or Palm Springs.

Unexpected Surprise
By Ralph, 04/28/06
Hotel grounds are beuatiful. We'll have to visit at a time when we could enjoy it more. A very large pool area and a workout room convenient to the main lobby. When we had car trouble the staff was most helpful in getting us started and back on our way.

Won't return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/06
The only good thing was that the room was clean. We had arranged to use a half price deal and from the time we arrived, we were treated poorly. I had checked rates online, and the rate there was only $2 higher than what they gave us. Then we were told that the half price room did not receive the free breakfast. We also inquired about their free wireless internet access, were told they had it available in the rooms. Then when we were checked into the room, we were told it was not available in our room. We were very disappointed in this hotel, and will not return.
