The room was spacious, quiet, and the fireplace was cozy & romantic. The extra "goodies" provided (I.e., water, sodas, snacks, and nice bottle of wine) were very much appreciated. The cookies, and wine & cheese in the office lobby were also nice.

People at Front Desk were accommodating, friendly and efficient.

The linens are always lovely. Breakfast in our room is just great! We love being close to everything so we can walk. We just love coming To Carmel anytime. The desk staff is always friendly and helpful.

If you are looking for high-end luxury, this is not the place. If you are looking for a great place to relax in Carmel with someone you love, this place is perfect! The rooms are large and comfortable, most with fireplaces. The place is a bit older, but well kept. The service from the staff there is amazing! I called before arriving and asked for a bottle of wine to be chilling in the room upon arrival and they not only did this for me, but also had fresh fruit and chocolates along side, and never charged me for this. It is a few blocks from the beach, so it is quiet and perfect for a romantic getaway. When you go to Carmel you forget that there is another world outside of this little town. I would recommend a long weekend and never get into your car, just walk around town and enjoy the food, galleries, shopping, beach. The day you leave go to Clint Eastwoods Ranch and do the coastal drive through Pebble Beach area. Next time I go to Carmel I will not even look at other places, I will go directly to the Carriage House Inn.

This Inn was recommended by a travel atlas my mother had ten years ago, and it was the only 4 star listed, so we gave it a try, and have not gone to any other place. For the past ten years we have returned to the Carriage House Inn, and have stayed in the same room every time. The people who work there treat customers like family, and make you feel welcome every time we return. The only downfall, is that it is not "on" the beach, and you have to drive down the street to get to the beach, but you are located in the middle of the great shops and restaurants. We are returning again in a couple of months, and can't wait to get there!

Our room at the Carriage House Inn was alluring, bright, airy and romantic with it's white-washed high wood ceilings and ceiling to floor windows. The window seat overlooked fragrant pines and the cozy fireplace topped off the spacious kind-sized bed room. We enjoyed the beautiful blue tiled bathroom with its Jacuzzi jet tub and the comfortable robes provided. We ordered what we wanted for breakfast the night before and left it in our mailbox with the time we wanted it delivered the next morning, it was very convenient. Cheese and wine were served in the main lobby around 5:30pm and this gave us a chance to chat with other guests. They also provided a library of books and movies for guests to enjoy. We adored the Street Lamp lit romantic walkway attached to the Inn, which lead us to the main Carmel shopping strip, only one block away. The town of Carmel is completely irresistible and unique. We wished we had planned a longer stay. The beach was absolutely mesmerizing with its white sand beaches and soft-as-sugar sand. The surrounding trees and homes perched on the cliffs were breath taking. We highly recommend the Carriage House Inn for a romantic and relaxing get away. Fawn and Vincent
