Under New Ownership & Management
By heritage inn, 05/27/09
since the begining of this year, heritage inn is going through many changes. All new management is in the hotel as well as a new willing owner to help. All previous reviewers are welcome to back and review our improving hotel once again.

Did not honor the rate on a confirmed reservation!
By dcjauburn, 07/29/08
Made a reservation through Hotel Plus on June 2 for a visit starting June 14, 2008. Got a confirmation number. When I arrived at the hotel they had the reservation but at a higher rate then when I made the reservation. The manager, Henry Yao, would not honor the rate on the confirmed reservation. As a result we left 4 days early and canceled a reservation for 2 days for our friends that were going to visit. So they may have received $34 more then they should but they lost 6 nights of room rental. My experience with Mr. Yao was that he is bullheaded and not very customer friendly. I will say that the beds were very comfortable and the rooms, quiet. Got a good nights sleep. My nephew is alergic to dust and he started having a reaction when he was laying on the bed spread. When it was removed he started to clear up. The room wouldn't pass a white glove test. The contental breakfast was typical, cold cereal, juices, coffee, muffins, fruit and a warm breakfast for the asian pallet. The hotel is not very near to any major attraction, that I could see.

Low cost with equivalent services
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/20/07
If you intend to stay at this hotel, do not count on any "extras". Costs are cut so you will not find basic things like a morning paper, iron and ironing board, one towel apiece (with hand towel and wash cloth), three day old danishes for the "free" continental breakfast (as well as one kind of cereal and one kind of muffin). At least they had apple juice as well as orage juice. The staff appeared to be "beaten down" from all of the previous customer complaints. When I requested an iron and ironing board, I had to go down stairs and sign it out and take it back when I was done. Also, had a problem connecting to the internet (which could not handle the capacity of all the guests at peak times) and staff had no idea who to call to get help. The walls are so thin I could hear everything in the adjoining room and was continually woken up by other residents doors slamming. Also found three different types of hair in the bath tub. I guess for the LA area, this is a pretty good deal for the price...just dont expect anything else than a place to sleep.

So-So
By Courtney, 06/19/06
The place was clean and a good deal. However, the next morning, my boyfriend and I both had to take cold showers because there was no hot water.

Not a pleasant experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/06
The staff is quite friendly. That is the only good thing I have to say. The bed was hard as a rock, there were ants on the bedspread and the room stank of stale smoke. The real kicker was when I got home and checked my bank statement to find out that I had been charged a fifty dollar deposit in addition to the room charge which the front desk clerk failed to mention would happen as I was checking in. When I called, whomever answered nonchalantly told me about the charge and said my account would be credited in about five days. Five Days?!!! (What if an emergency came up and I needed that money?) All in all, quite an unpleasant experience and I will not be staying there again!

Bad Place
By kmlkml72, 06/16/06
I stayed there for around 10 days. I wanted to make a call to India, they said I should deposit $10 and then call. I did and made 4 or 5 calls. On the next day they called me to say that my bill is 366 dollars. It is so ridiculous. They charged me 9 dollar per minute to India without even informing me. If I had known they charge so ridiculous amount, I would never have called. Then one night they called me at 11pm to say that my credit card is not going through. I said it might be a minor problem which can be taken care of in the morning. But the desk clerk insisted I pay them immediately, get cash from anywhere. They almost made me feel that they will ask me to vacate in the middle of the night. Finally, I went to the front-desk and told them to swipe again and it worked. Both the things I complained to manager but she did not do anything to help me. Overall my experience has been the worst with this hotel. They do not know that guests are supposed to be treated with respect and dignity. Avoid the hotel if you can.

Clean & Quiet - Good Location
By MarkM, 01/03/06
This is the only hotel close to the Palm/Imperial industrial complex, and was clean & quiet. The staff were accomodating for extras, such as an iron and ironing board and extra pillows. The continental breakfast could use more choices however, selections were limited.

Fire hazard - horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/16/05
My room had a wood smoke smell to start with. I opened the window but the smell didn't clear out. The air conditioner didn't help either. The electric outlet in the bathroom didn't work so I couldn't use the coffee maker or hair dryer. I told the desk and they said someone would fix it, but they didn't. Late that night I plugged my phone charger into an outlet in the room and the electric circuit blew for the whole side of the room. So now I didn't have a tv, refridgerator, or most of the lights. And of course the plug in the bathroom still didn't work. The place is a fire hazard. I told my company about it and they for sure will never, ever have anybody stay there in the future.
