Dreadful!!!
By Regina, 3/6/09
The photos are so mis leading-seriously! The only luxury or fancy place in the whole hotel is the front desk! The elevator is so tiny-that it only fit my suitcase and I. (And I'm only 138 lbs!!) Next when I went to find my room it felt like I was in prison-going thru a maze-it has slits through the walls-I guess to ventilate the area because it has no AC! Finally, I got to my room to find out that it was dreadfully hot! I assumed it was that way because the ac wasn't on-turned out that the ac didn't work-so they brought me a fan!! The floor was uneven-the room was small-the bathroom was tiny with a tiny window that was opened. I complained about the ac they came out to fix it-didn't work-told me to wait a half an hour-then brought me a fan like I said. Didn't even move me to a different room!! Luckily, I just stayed there a couple hours coming from Universal-never again!! I paid $125.31-for a king sized bedroom-in which they told me the original price was $101 plus tax was $117-but apprently changed! Please don't waste your time-I recommend the Days Inn at Glendale-cheaper, nicer, and great staff!! Regina

Good experience - MUCH better than expected
By EdwardJ, 2/24/08
I was worried about this place after reading some of the other reviews. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. There is a feeling of high quality entering the lobby with marble floors. There is a secure entrance to the indoor rooms and the underground garage. The room was clean, the high-speed internet more than adequate (~1500 kbps which I am using now), the breakfast was plentiful complete with cereal, oatmeal, fruit, bagels, juice, danishes, coffee/hot chocolate, etc, and the location cannot be beat. In all fairness, the walls are pretty thin which allows ambient noice easy access to your ears. Overall this is an excellent value.

Believe in Randy!!! He delivers.
By Renee Isaacson, 2/23/08
Believe in Randy!!! He delivers. By Renee I, 02/23/08 This is a great value for the area. The parking is secure, the rooms are acceptable, except for room 228. Read below for our story... When I first saw the comments about this hotel, I had already booked it. The comments were mostly negative and I was planning to cancel. I called the hotel directly and spoke with Randy the manager. He told me that people don't usually write comments if they have a good experience, which is true, if I look at myself. He told me that everyone on his staff would be helpful and if I had any problems, have them call him at home. I decided to give him a shot. Our family arrived very late, after a three hour excursion when we got lost coming from Disneyland to Hollywood. We arrived at 11:00 and were a bit scared when we saw the entrance from the parking garage to the elevator taking us to the lobby. (Hey Randy)... That could do a lot for people's expectations if that were made more pleasing and sturdy. RLI Anyway, we were surprised to see a very nice lobby and the security systems in place were acceptable. When we got to our room, we were again surprised to see a room which was clean and welcoming. The room was apparently undergoing a renovation, but none the less, nice. The continential breakfast was very good. Name brand products, plentiful and very good. I am someone who can be classified as very needy in a hotel, but all my needs were met with polite and prompt service. ***Other than the entry area in the parking garage, my only real problem was that the showers, which are tiled and clean, were slippery. There was no tub in our room but the water was plentiful, not restricted flow like most hotels. All in all, it was worth taking the chance with Randy. My friends stayed in room 228 and someone has apparently snuck a dog in there. They did not complain to the hotel staff but I did. As I said before, we arrived very late and by the time I called with the problem, the last room was taken for the night. I have no doubt that, if given notice earlier, the staff would have move them without question. All the staff were polite, professional and friendly. They were very helpful and I was very happy with the whole experience. Not having been to Hollywood before, I was a bit let down by the area as a whole, but our van was secure and so were we. Thanks. Renee I. Room 242, February 19-21 2008

worst hotel ever!!!
By Marci, 7/17/07
This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in any town, any where. Very hard to find. Beds were as hard as a rock. Floors were probably softer (except they were dirty). Bathroom "mirror" was actually a window looking out into an open hallway. You have to pay $5.00 a day to park (which was an insult to me since I paid $170 to stay overnight). I stayed in a double-bed room. It was teeny-tiny. No cell phone service in our room, (we had to go out into the hallway to use phone). Pool was cloudy. Toilet was plugged up and wouldn't flush. I was glad I only had to stay one night. I beg you to find someplace else to stay!!

Try Somewhere Else
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/16/06
Poorly maintained hotel. TV had problems, could hardly turn shower faucet on, advertised wireless high-speed internet is a joke. The wireless part is true but the connection is slower than dial-up. Staff could care less about customer complaints. Internet price quoted is incorrect as they add a room safe charge to your bill without even telling you about it. Will never stay there again.

Description of hotel INACCURATE!
By Belinda, 7/6/06
The pictures of the room must be the room that belongs to the owner because the room we got was extremely small. We requested 2 beds AND a rollaway. There was no space left once we opened the rollaway. We were all walking on the beds to get to the bathroom. Also, of the 4 websites I visited to research this hotel ALL said the parking was free--NOT!! I was charged $5.00 per day. When I stated that the parking should have been free, I was told their website was updated "a long time ago" and shows that they do charge for parking. I was very unhappy to have put my family in this hotel. Oh, there is only a shower, no tub. This is not stated in the description and made it very difficult to bathe our infant child.

VERY poor hotel AND service
I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights, and was extremely disappointed. Firstly, as we approached our room, we saw a trash can sitting on the roof outside our room dripping some kind of disgusting, smelly garbage. Upon entering our room, our sink would not drain, and it took us two nights, and numerous phone calls and visits to the office before we were finally given a new room. Upon entering out new room, the hair dryer had been ripped from the wall. I informed the office of this numerous times and never got one. One of the matresses in the second room had something that appeared to be a large blood stain on the matress. Upon checking out, I complained to the office, and was told nothing could be done because the manager was out. I was promised to be mailed a coupon for a free night at any Days Inn (which is a VERY poor compensation for the amount of headache we had druing our stay, but I was willing to accept it nonetheless). After almost a month, and nemerous unanswered emails, I have recieved NOTHING. Do yourself a favor, spend a few extra dollars, and stay at a different hotel. I recommend the Ramada on Santa Monica.
