3 reviews for Country Inn - Suites Camarillo, Camarillo
Won't go back!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/08
Upon check-in at 5pm room was still being cleaned. I had to wait in the lobby for 10-15 min. The Staff was more concerned with getting their job done than being friendly or courteous. Once I had checked out their system was down so they couldn't give me any kind of receipt of stay, which I needed to be refunded by my work. I gave them my fax number so that they could fax the receipt when the system was restored. It’s been over a week and every time I call they say the same thing, "the system is still down and I assure you it will be back up by this afternoon, please call back tomorrow." I gave them the benefit of doubt but after calling everyday for a week with the same accuse is unacceptable. The one good thing I will say about them is the food, they provide a variety of different food items to enjoy, which a lot of other hotels I have stayed at do not do that. If they only train the staff better at treating customers better and adopt a system that is not so easily crashable they would have a lot better reviews.

Doesn't look or feel like a Country Inn and Suites
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/21/07
This seems like an existing hotel that Country Inn and Suites took over. If not, it is very dull and old. Room very large but beds very uncomfortable and the noisiest air conditioner I've ever heard. Finally had to shut it off to even be able to sleep, then it was way to warm. Considered opening the window, but one was busted out and laying on the roof top and the other had holes in it. There was a fake owl sitting on the roof gable that was covered with bird droppings so definitely didn't feel comfortable leaving the window open. Didn't use the outside pool because the access was all the way down a pretty vacant corridor out the back. The hotel was very desolate for being right off the highway. I would have left upon first appearance if we weren't so tired and just getting back on the highway in the morning. One bright spot...the breakfast in the morning was in a very clean reception area off the lobby and had made to order eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns, along with the other typical continental breakfast fare. When my kids went back up for a second plate of eggs and sausage the server gave it to them but scolded them and told them they were only suppose to get one serving per person, although this was not posted anywhere that we saw. Overall, not your typical looking, newer, bright and cozy Country Inn and Suites.

Has everything you need!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/21/05
My husband and I stayed here and this hotel had everything we needed including a full breakfast, laundry room, gym access (which usually charged us $10/day to workout) and a lobby computer with internet to help us with MapQuest/driving directions, checking home emails and airline checkin. Evening happy hour was also a nice touch...we had a drink in our room before getting ready for our dinner plans. We are planning a return trip to the area with our 4 kids and have already booked rooms here. The breakfasts will save us a ton of money and the kids will love the free cookies and fruit throughout the day plus the free book rentals. We visited several other hotels in the area before booking our return trip, but this hotel has everything we need...significantly more than any other hotel in the area...esp. for the price (after AAA discount!) Close to the beach, bike trails, quaint Ventura and Santa Barbara. You will not regret staying here...esp. if you have children.
