We will never go back!!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/17/09
We stayed in the view suite and at 6 am we started hearing lots of footsteps and chairs moving until 9 am. It was that the dining room was above us. We couldn't sleep anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Year of a million nightmares
By cdmon, 10/26/08
First off, our party consisted of 2 disabled adults, 1 other adult and a baby. Our criteria for booking a room was getting one near the main gate and one that had queen beds. This is what we were promised at Carousel Inn. What did we get? When we arrived at our room it was very hot and humid inside so we tried to turn the AC on and it did not come on. Also the fridge was not cold. The maintenance person came and fixed the AC fairly quickly. He installed a temperature knob in the fridge. In the morning our baby’s milk was frozen solid. No offers were made to replace this. The second night when we arrived at our room, we found that someone had been in our room while we were gone and urinated all over the toilet seat and left it in that condition. This of itself is entirely unacceptable and grounds for a full refund. No one should ever be expected to pay for that kind treatment. To make matters worse the TV armoire door was busted, the shower leaked all over the floor. The tub had grit at the bottom and backed up water when the shower was being used. There was an obnoxious loud noise coming from the machinery on the roof over our room which woke us up and scared our baby. On the second night I realized that the beds were not queens as we had been promised. I went to the lobby and a rude blond young man kept telling me I was wrong that they are queens. Finally he summoned the manager who came to the room and measured the width of the bed. Lo and behold the bed was 56” … not a queen. A standard queen is 60”. The manager claimed she didn’t know that they were not queens. The manager was nice and offered us 2 breakfast sandwiches and couple cookies. Although it was a nice gesture it may have made up for the leaky shower and the busted TV armoire door, but comes no where near making up for the urine or the full sized beds instead of queens. We asked the manager for floor towels and laundry bags which she agreed to obtain for us but we never received. After returning home from our trip, we called Carousel Inn asking about the rooms and they are still claiming to have queen beds. At first I gave them the benefit of the doubt about not knowing that the beds are not queens, but now that I brought this to their attention they still continue to tell people that the rooms have queens. That is downright dishonest. I would recommend Motel 6 over Carousel any day of the week. Better service and real queen size beds for less than half the price. The rooms are in far better shape and no lies. This is a bad neighbor hotel, which turned our year of a million dreams into a year of a million nightmares.

the best thing about the OC
By Ron, 09/27/08
the service was marvelous staff escorted us to our room carried our bags up 2 flights of stairs helped us with finding the best place to eat nearby (Millie's) and local shopping to buy our grand kids souvenir's at places that don't charge a fortune. Its a great place to stay even if you aren't going to Disneyland which is right across the road a 2 minute walk for a couple of seniors 22 seconds across the road you can view the fireworks from the rooftop pool and go for a swim afterward s and then go to your room refreshed .I would recommend this hotel to anyone and especially to seniors the beds are extremely comfortable and clean my wife and I stayed for 8 days the morning breakfast is very nice. I especially loved the fresh brewed coffee wish we could buy it in Canada .It was like a home away from home when your almost 3000 miles from home you like to feel safe and comfortable and we did

Poor Customer Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/28/08
No direction of our room, no help to carry our luggages and stroller. The room was small for 3 adults and 2 children to stay for 8 nites. We carried our luggages, stroller and 2 small children up to the very end of the building on the second floor with no elevator. The manager promised to give us a cot or to be moved to a comfortable family room but we received the cot on the 4 nite out of 8 nites stay and we were never moved. My daughter was sleeping with her 2 small children and one fell off from the bed. Not so funny!!!!!!!! Breakfast was okay. For families with children, make sure you get the room with elevator or stay on the first floor. Front desk personnel should take a refresher course in customer service skills.

Great location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/27/08
The location is great. Fantastic places to eat next door. They will make your budget go farther. But there is a down side. The front desk staff from our experience... were awful. Our flight arrived early and check in is at 3:00pm. when I started to ask what time we could expect our room I didn't even get the question out of my mouth and I got my head bit off. I DON'T KNOW COME BACK AT 3:00. This girl acted like we were bothering her. Our trip took a downward spiral. Here we were so excited to get to Disneyland and after weeks of deciding on a hotel we chose this one and we were treated like unwanted visitors. When we did come back at 3:10pm we were slapped over some keys and we were told all the fees. If you lose your keys it's $5. If you make a phone call it's a $1 per call. You have a resort fee of $2.50 a day. Then it was "I need a credit card right now in order for you to get your room!" There was no HI... WELCOME....ENJOY YOUR STAY...nothing. We weren't even told how to get to our room! Or where the morning breakfast was located or where the pool. We had to ask another guest. We have decided for our upcoming trip in December to spend the extra money and stay at the Disneyland Hotel. You get what you pay for. We will however visit the all you can eat buffet restaurant and the IHOP. They are great places to eat.

just ok
By heatherp, 03/07/08
My husband and i stayed at the carousel inn for 7 days in late feb. it was a nice hotel and the front desk people were great. When we first got into disneyland we made the mistake of going on splash mountain first.... so we got soaked. We went back to the hotel around 9:30 and they let us check in early so we could change. The location is awesome just across the street. The only down side is that its pretty noisy and i'm use to noise( we live an a apartment). The noise was from outside and also the people next to us. We told the housekeeping people that we didnt need any housekeeping and they still kept coming in. Finally we had to talk to the manager to let him know. Oh yeah the beds are wierd, it kinda felt like it was down sloping towards the floor. All in all it was ok though, i think that if your going to go with the good neighbor hotels then you should try the ramada inn maingate. Its maybe a 5min walk instead but i really , really liked it there. Oh well next time were going to try the grand califorinan!

Awesome hotel for the price!
By LISA, 07/20/07
We just left last night and will be back again! For the price, this hotel is a real deal. The beds and bedding are very comfortable. Plenty of bath towels provided, all generous size too (not the usual tiny bath towels most hotels provide). The staff at the front desk were very helpful providing garbage bags & rubber bands when Grandma fell & broke her arm at Disneyland. Breakfast was provided.....croissants, danishes, oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs (taste like they were frozen...nasty!), juice, coffee, toast. The location is perfect & not too far to walk. The only down side is the parking situation...there is none! We took Grandma & her handicap placard, but no parking anywhere. We always had to park in 15 minute parking or double park with everyone else. Our car bumper was dented by someone in the lot trying to wiggle out. I've stayed at 3 other hotels on the street and this is by far the best hotel room, but the parking & breakfast has been better.

Best Cheap Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/10/07
Good- Hotel is super close to parks, across street. Water was not hot on one of the days and we got credited for a night's stay, nice. Breakfast in am is okay, kids love the doughnuts. Kids love the "Kid's Suite" with Mickey Mouse bunkbeds and Mickey TV. Also, the kid's have their own bedroom. Good deal. Not so good- Foot traffic is poor next to kid's suie because it is right next to the elevator, and we could hear people getting on and off late at night. We have stayed in 3 or 4 different hotels on Harbor Blvd. This one is the best.

Great Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/07
Super location, right across the street from Disneyland. You can enjoy downtown disney within walking distance, Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. Truely within a couple minute walk. This hotel has breakfast, which is nice. We had 12 different rooms, from the 3 bedroom suite to a standard 2 queen room and they were all very clean, smelled good and service was great. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Anaheim and especially if you are visiting Disneyland. A great Inn with all the comforts of home!

Like Walking Into A Palace
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/09/07
I just returned from 10 days stay at Carousel Inn. Each time I stay the place is more wonderful than the time before. I felt like I was walking into a palace this time when I opened the door! The beds are super white and clean with a beautiful duvet and pillow top mattresses! Had the best sleep I've had in months here. A 5 minute walk to Disneyland is an added plus. Staff are friendly and get things done fast if there are concerns. I highly recommend this hotel to all travellers! Happy from Canada
