Everyone else of the poor service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/09
The assistant manager Bob (not the restaurant) was the rudess man ever at any hotel. A complaint over a beer led him to cancel a reservation. This guy should be tarred and feathered.

Bad experience
By Aaron, 08/24/08
We booked a king size room for my wife, baby and two small dogs. When we checked in to the room it really smelled of cigarette smoke and there was a mysterious stain on the bed spread. The room was non-smoking, in fact the whole hotel is, but even the front desk staff agreed that it the smell was strong. My wife is very sensitive to cigarette smoke and obviously that is not acceptable foe a 6 month old baby. The front desk staff tried to switch us to another room, but they were all booked and the only people who had not checked in needed the two beds in their rooms. All of the other pet friendly hotels in the area were booked, forcing us to stay witn my brother-in-law and me to sleep in the car with the dogs. It is unacceptable to have a non-smoking room smell that badly of smoke. They offered us $20 off our room and a free breakfast, which was kind of a joke.

Would not go back !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/27/08
Admittedly the hotel was in the process of remodelling. Therefore there was no restaurant, bar or lounge area on the premises. The shower was very strange as it had only half a glass door (no sliding doors), so to turn on the faucet for a hot shower one was first subjected to a cold shower! Not the most pleasant experience, especially with no heat in the bathroom. No internet connection was available in our room. When we asked about it we were told to try outside the building! (It was a cold day). We paid for a deluxe room, but judging by the size, it was anything but deluxe! The breakfast was good, but we had to ask about it. Not too much information was offered at the front desk. We are AAA members and seniors, but no discount was allowed since we reserved on the internet.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/14/08
I LOVE this place. I had a GREAT stay. Was well taken care of. Love everything about this hotel. One of the best vacation I have had. Love the rooms, service, fire pit, hot tubs, pool, and could walk to 2 shopping centers and also walk to lots of restaurants. Great value for the $$$$. If you want to stay at a great place this is it!!!!!!!!!!

Nice location but .... too much $
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/02/07
My wife and I stated at the Carmel Mission Inn just recently (August 2007) and we were pleased with the location. It is strategically located and great for getting around. Another great aspect of the motel is that it is PET FRIENDLY. Big plus for them. Having said that, we were totally underwhelmed by the accomodations based on the price. We paid nearly $270 on one night and $170 on two other nights. I'd have really had to think hard again to pay over $150 any night. A word to the wise, we looked at the photos of the motel on several sights and got caught by the appearance of the valance/canopy over the beds. Unfortunately our room didn't have one - and that was a real selling point for us. A couple of other cons - if you are staying on the first floor, which are the rooms for pet owners, don't expect a patio of any form. Also, note that you'll not have a microwave. We experienced a bathroom nightlight that had a mind of its own during our stay. Also, don't expect to have any restaurant facilities except for morning meals. ALthough, there are very close restaurants both behind and across the street from the motel. All-in-all we summarized our stay as adequate but certainly over-priced.

Friendliest Staff

Great location, loved the landscape, lots to walk about and see, pet friendly. The staff was as helpful as could be. Furnishings a bit dated but very clean.

Beautiful Hotel, Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/17/05
This hotel is located at the mouth of Carmel Valley. It has beautiful rooms, beautiful grounds, a heated pool and two outdoor jacuzzis. The staff is exceptional, especially the front desk personnel. We were there for two days on a "Romance Package", it was a great deal. I would stay there again on my next visit to the Monterey Peninsula.
