stains on walls bad stains on carpet dangerous carpet area that was pulled up at seams by sliding glass door rust around sink faucet fixtures rust around tub and scary caulking with mold underneath tub curtain rod hanging by a thread and curtain wont close public can enter your so called private balcony and no screen lights outside and inside of entry way did not work SCARY PLACE to enter at 11:30pm after a show or entertainment so called air conditioning was only a humidifier at best and did not cool room furniture very worn and old rattling ceiling fans no hair dryer old, musty smell VERY HOT AND UNSAFE HOTEL small unheated pool and no hot tub WORSE THAN MOTEL 6 breakfast service was terrible and stale bread, coffee took forever to brew 1 hour had to pull own breakfast out of the refrigerator. $249.00 a night ocean waves came right up to the building ocean was so loud that it was hard to go to sleep

My husband and I stayed here in August of 2008 and we loved only because we had never stayed on the beach before. Our room was not noisy. Having the water at your doorstep is appealing, however any beach bum can just walk in off of the street (and they do believe me...). Not every room is identical, but the bedsheet were clean, but the carpet was dirty with rust and other stains, and the walls had brown stains on them. some rooms are right near the stairs and have no security so you have to sleep with the sliding glass door closed and there are no windows for ventilation. The front desk guy was sort of snobby and assuming and basically did not care about anything. My husband and I made the best of it because we are in love and were near the beach, but that was the only good thing about this hotel. The second time I stayed here by myself in September ....same thing. For the price that we payed we could have stayed at a much much nicer and cleaner hotel and still be near the beach and hear the ocean. I mean if you are going to go out of your way to have a nice and relaxing "pamper yourself" vacation, this is not the place to go. For the same money you can get better accomodations.................avoid this place.

We were VERY disapointed with this hotel! The rooms were very rundown, but I could have handled that if were able to have any air to breathe at night! I couldn't leave the windows or doors open because there was no screens on them and bugs were coming in, and people were walking right by your room so if you left the windows or doors open to get a breeze, people could just come in our room and rip us off. There is easy access from the street directly into the rooms, so anyone coming off the street could walk into your rooms. We assumed there was air conditioning which there was not. The rooms smelled old and musty. When I read deluxe continental breakfast, I assume there is something besides juice, coffee, and danish. It was so loud around the pool, which is incredibly small, until after 2 in the morning, we couldn't sleep, this was the worst accommodations I have ever stayed at!!

We paid $700 for two nights for the "family suite" which I almost left rightaway when we got there. The place was old, The paint was peeling off, terrible smelled and everything was so disgusting. Not all the rooms are air conditioning so make sure when you reserve (but just don't go there). "Air conditioner" in our room was a small portable unit and only in one of the bedrooms and you can't make that little room cooler than 78degree. The other room was so hot and you can't open the sliding doors because there was no screen!! I got so sick when we got in the room and almost threw up. We went down to the beach and thought if left the air conditioner on for a while it would get better when we came back but it didn't. I couldn't eat or drink in the room the whole time we were staying because of the condition of the place. The only thing that good is the clean bed and the clean linens. The TVs are small (15" and 22"?) and not clear, always snowed with bad reception. The bathroom is so tiny which one sink and no place to put your stuff. The shower head is very low I had to bend down to wash my face and my head and I am only 5'3. The toilet seat was small and low. Don't go there! it does not worth the money.

This hotel actually is much nicer and worth satying at after its remodeling. Service was okay, but the location is great, I had a beachfront room. I can understand that the rooms could have been dirty when most of you people stayed, but after they remodeled overall the hotel is a much better place to stay at. I usuallt stay for 3 or 4 nights and enjoy every minute of it.

Oh my god. Horrible place. from the lobby, no parking... you have to park across the street, down a scary ally half a block away. the room was TINY. there is no AC. it was HOT. old place. to top it off... it is located on/next to a gay bar/club with LOUD Pounding music coming Thur the walls. could not sleep. this place gets an F in my book. the only thing that makes it tolerable is that it is ON the beach. but for the same price maybe a little more... you can go somewhere much nicer.

Wanted to surprise out of town family from the East Coast with an overnight beach stay. We had 3 rooms. Each worse than the other. The one oceanfront room had a nice view and beach access, but that was the only pro about the stay. Cockroaches in the broken light fixtures, broken tv's, ceiling fans and hairdryers were among the least of our fears. When we saw the giant "stains" on the comforter and carpets, we got completely grossed out. I wanted to leave, but we stuck it out. The showers were disgusting, and the rooms were in need of a good cleaning, and remodeling. Two of our kids developed a mysterious rash the following morning that is still present 3 days later! I was embarrassed this was how Laguna Beach would represent itself. I would rather have a root canal than go back to this hotel!!

I don't even feel like writing a big review so i'll make it short and sweet! This is the worst hotel I have ever seen, wouldn't stay in this hotel if they paid me too. We left as soon as we walked in!!!! p.s they were gonna charge us $475.00 a night!lololololol

I CHOSE THIS HOTEL BECAUSE THE PRICE WAS QUOTED AS $95,00 PER NIGHT. WHEN I GOT THE CONFIRMATION IT SAID $175.00 PER NIGHT. THE ROOM WE GOT WAS BAD. OVERLOOKING A PARKING LOT. A RESTAURANT BELOW PLAYED MUSIC UNTIL 2:00AM. THE MANAGEMENT WAS BAD ALSO. I WILL BE MORE CAREFUL WHEN I BOOK A HOTEL EITH YOU AGAIN. MARILYN FORSHA

Be very wary of this place! We splurged and booked a room with an ocean view. What a rip off! The only way to see the ocean--no exaggeration--was to stand on the bed! Otherwise our ocean view room had a view of the roof building in front of us! When I complained, my room rate was promptly dropped $100. Ok, so no ocean view, but I could still fall asleep at night to the sound of the waves. Wrong again! There is a bar a few doors down from the hotel that was playing loud music until late at night. That was all that we could hear--no lull of ocean waves. The other reviews sum up our other experiences as well--run down, musty smelling, most of the lights in our room didn't work... Also, there was no fan in room and it got very hot in there. No clock either--no way to tell what time it was in the morning. For the price we paid, even with the lowered rate, this place was not worth it! We were in Laguna Beach for the Pageant of the Masters. Next time we go to the show, we will stay in a nearby town for lower rates and better accomodations.
