M Star Hotel, Red Bluff

I believe the new owners have done a lot of work to clean this place up since September, 2008 and are still in the process of remodeling. We spent 2 nights here in a large, clean room. The owners are very friendly and considerate of your needs. The outdoor pool looked very inviting though we didn't have time to use it. For being a guest of the motel, the restaurant next door has a special. We took advantage of a very good breakfast for a low price. It is in a good location for the local events and stores. The owners are doing everything they can to make this a better place and welcome input. I did notice some people on the opposite side from us that may have been long term tenants that looked pretty seedy. As long as the new owners don't allow them to cause trouble, they won't scare away the honest folks who want to stay there as I did see one other couple with concerns as well. The only thing I noticed that could be included in the remodeling was the shower. Because it's an old shower, the floor was somewhat torn off which didn't look very good. After a good scrub, a mat could easily be used to make it look nicer. This place isn't fancy: no phone (most people have a cell) and no coffee pot (we brought our own) but overall, a nice stay for a good price that we would visit again.

We stayed here last yr for the rodeo weekend, they had no record of our booking and credit card # ( I had my online receipt) Rooms smelled, locks and keys didnt work for the door, shower grout was dirty and moldy..They had sprayed in the bathroom for ant's and left the dead ant trail right there on the wall YUCK...We felt dirtier after a shower !!!!!!
