Elite Westerner Inn & Suites, Arcadia

They wouldn't take my reservation over the phone.
The low price for a room was not the $36 per night on the website; it was $40 --but still the lowest in the area. You get what you pay for. As for the "Room Amenities":
• Television : yes, there was free cable TV.
• Newspaper : I didn't get a free paper.
• Refrigerator : there was no fridge in my room.
• Shower : thankfully, altho grey & missing grout, one of three bulbs missing in rusty light over mirror.
• Air Conditioning : not necessary that night.
• Bathtub : nope, only a shower stall.
• Private Bath : okay.
• Telephone : $10 deposit returned in full.
• Balcony/Terrace : upstairs, that is ...
• Mini-Bar : not in my room.
• Radio/Alarm Clock : not in my room.
• Fireplace : not in my room.
• Kitchen/Kitchenette : not in my room.

The folks at the desk were nice, tho. And the signatures on the mattress of couples who had shared it in the past were charming, e.g.: Nelson & Donna 11/19/02 - 11/21/02.
