clean, close, friendly, affordable
By Review Boost, 01/19/10
We chose the Best Western for it's proximity to Marine World (2 blocks), free parking and hotel shuttle to and from the park, room features (King bed, sofa bed for our daughter, fridge and micro), the continental breakfast, and the affordable price ($89). We were surprised at the very large size of the room, how clean and new it was, the exceptionally comfortable bed, the great soundproofing, the very friendly and accomodating staff, the pool, and the hotel security. Which brings me to the only downside of this hotel... the need for security. Early in the day the parking lot feels safe, as did walking around the general area during day light hours. However, when the sun set, all sorts of interesting characters came out of the woodwork. We walked to the gas station right next to the hotel, and were approached by a woman offering to give us a ride anywhere we wanted to go, and her 6 1/2 foot "friend" who asked us to just come around the back with him to help another woman. Ummmm, no. We then drove to a nearby grocery store, and had similar interactions with the nice folks in the parking lot. So, as long as you gather all your necessities prior to the setting of the sun, and remain within the hotel itself after dark, this is a very good place to stay. The hotel doors were locked at around 9pm, with a security staff person at the door all night. The hotel itself was beyond our expectations, and we travel quite alot. We will stay here again on our next trip to Marine World. --Sarah

Awful experience
By Desiree, 06/02/08
My family will never stay in this hotel again. From the moment we entered the room, we smelled a moldy musty smell. The carpets looked filthy. The decor was outdated and ugly. The beds were uncomfortable. I sprayed Lysol all over because the room did not feel clean. The sink was not clean. I went to give my two young sons a quick bath, and noticed little black hairs in the tub. DISGUSTING! They were also on the floor, did they not sweep and mop? I had no desire to even eat the Continental breakfast based upon my experience in my room. I can't help but question how clean the kitchen is where the food is prepared.

Not bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/08
When we first pulled into the parking lot my husband and I weren't too sure what to think. But once we got settled in we thought it was okay. The room was adequate for our 4-night stay - with a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Breakfast was tiny but acceptable with waffles, pastries, cereal and fruit. Housekeeping staff was very nice, front desk staff was nice but didn't go the extra mile. We made good use of the guest laundry (though the hotel couldn't provide change or soap). Pool area is very nice though it was too cold while we were there to make use of it. The location of this property was perfect for us: Right off I-80, about an hour drive to Pier 39, 30 minutes to Jelly Belly Factory. Would stay again for the price.

good service, under construction
By emilio, 11/07/07
place was under construction which is a slight turn off , but the rooms are great, nice and spacious, they got fresh towels, and looks to be like new bedding ... furnature could be replaced, breakfast is very very nice with lots of variety. staff is great, but at night, you will have trouble getting things like an extra pillow, extra blanket, towel etc. .. there is only one staff person at night. ... overall good stay... great high speed internet access.

never again
By mel, 08/25/07
we stayed at this motel for 1 night on our honeymoon. It was so run down and dirty. We found cigarettes under the bed and gang graffiti on the patio. The people upstairs let there kids stay up all night and they were runing around outside. Its in a bad location and is not a nice place. Mold all over in the bathroom, hair all over the walls and drains, just nasty!

Worst Quality Inn Ever!!!!
By Danny, 08/13/07
I've stayed at other Quality Inn hotels and I really like them but this one is THE TOTAL OPPOSITE, it's in a very bad area, the restroom was tiny and the toilet wouldn't work right, there was scotch tape to cover holes in the ceiling, the patio furniture looked like if it was worth $5, and it was outdoor which didn't let us feel safe, the breakfast room is in a separate room from the building in the parking lot as well, it was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at and I wont go back there.

whats that smell?
By chris, 12/15/06
Our room stunk soooo bad. It wasn't a little odor, the whole room reeked like pee. Our toilet wouldn't flush. The carpet was sticky. Gross!! The only thing that was great was the shower. I will never stay here again

A great bargain!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/30/06
We travel for business almost 365 days a year and we stay in a lot of hotels all over the U.S. This hotel was a great place. It was a little older but was well taken care of. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. The room was clean but obviously older. The toilet was wiggly when you set down. The carpets were clean and the beds were amazing compared to some of the places we have stayed. They were very soft and not lumpy. They were very close to a lot of easy to find shopping and restaurants, which I loved since my husband was working. We would most definately stay there again.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/16/05
the location was good, the good day cafe had excellent breakfast, pool area very nice, i can tell they are trying to renovate the rooms, there was new carpet and new furnature, but the bathroom fixtures could be replaced. other than that i had a pleasant stay.
