Beautiful locale
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/1/06
I thought it was very nice. The kids loved the slide and the large kids pool was fun. The grill bar connected to the pool was cool. You could stay in the pool with your drink. They had a couple separate pools for adults only. The rooms were very clean. The mountains behind the resort are gorgeous! I did not like the fact that they penny-ante you with a fridge full of stuff they would charge you for. Also for high speed internet access it was 15 bucks a day. The rooms are a good distance from the lobby so you have to have a bellhop transport you by golf cart to the room. So if you don't mind shelling out a little extra cash, this is a fantastic place!

Not all that great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/13/06
I was at the Westin La Paloma Resport & Spa for a business confernnce. While the location and the rooms were good I didn't find the service very good and have to say that I was very disapointed to see that things like the wireless internet access didn't work properly - The system apparantley was overloaded. The food was good and the rooms were certainly okay. Overall though I believe you can certainly ask for more value for money.

Not impressed with the Red Door Spa.
By CRoseDesign, 2/5/06
I have not stayed at this hotel -- but I went to their spa (the Elizabeth Arden Red Door spa) with a family member over Christmas. I was scheduled for a massage and a manicure. The place was attractive, the front desk staff was courteous and our appointments started on time. However, my massage was the worst I've ever had. The woman just was not well trained or talented. Her touch was sloppy, careless, slapdash. It actually felt unpleasant. The room was located next to some sort of food service area -- throughout the massage there was the clatter of dishes being stacked and cleaned. The manicure wasn't much better. The woman used a coarse file to smooth the nail ridges, but never went on to use a finer grain file. The result was horizontal scrapes and scratches across my nails, visible even after the nail polish was applied. I didn't let the management know I was unhappy, as the services were a gift from my a family member who was there with me! I visit Tucson occasionally but will not be returning to this particular spa.

Excellent Stay in Tucson
By GaryC, 5/24/05
We visited Tucson last August and chose La Paloma. The facility is excellent all the way around, summer rates are the best. The pools are clean and well maintained, our room had an excellent view overlooking the golf course. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout the resort. We especially enjoyed the location in the Catalina Foothills, the most beautiful part of Tucson. All this with several fabulous resturants within 5 min. of the hotel. The pools are divided into family/children's and adult's, which makes lounging by the pool a bit more restful. All in all, La Paloma is Tucson's finest, we'll be back often.

Beautiful Tucson
By Kevin J, 5/23/05
This hotel is so extremely romantic. The view of the city is perfect and unobstructed. Sitting by the fountain in front of the main lobby and scoping out the city lights is out of this world extraordinary! The golf here is the best in town. It is a desert style Troon facility, impeccably kept and very difficult. the greens are like putting on glass, expecially in the summer time when everything is dry. A very up a down course. I lived in Tucson for 7 years, this is the first course I would recommend to anyone visiting town!

Perfect for the wedding party!
By Sheridan, 5/21/05
I had the extreme pleasure of staying at the Westin Hotel in Tucson Arizona during the month of July. I was in town for my best friends wedding. It was the most amazing hotel stay I've had in a long time. There wasn't much time for sight seeing because of wedding planning schedule. I thought I'd just go back to the hotel and sleep but instead I found myself trying to fill each minute taking advantage of all the hotel had to offer. I sat at the bar in the pool and ordered a delicious fruit plate, I went to the Elizabeth Arden Red Door spa for a pedicure, I watched as jack rabbits toured the amazing landscaping, I went down the water slide a few times and I bought the most beautiful amber earings in their boutique. The staff was amazing and even supplied me with some scissors while I made the finishing touches on wedding favors. The best part was not wanting to leave the hotel. I had a wonderful sleep in an incredible bed with soft comfy sheets. This was one hotel that didn't necessarily felt like home but definatly felt like luxury. I would recomend this hotel to anyone wanting to take a family or escape for a romatic weekend. It's a total package, not just a place to sleep. My only regret was that I couldn't stay longer.

Best of the Best
By SoCalGirl, 5/16/05
Should you want romance, a wedding destination, kid friendliness, or just fun, come to the Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa in Tucson, AZ. This hotel is spectacularly gorgeous! It has it all! The spa is superb, the golf course is challenging, food is quality and the pool is so much fun, complete with a waterslide. Everytime I have ever stayed here, I have ejoyed my room and the lovely view of the Catalina Mountains. The lovely walks from here to there around the large hotel grounds are breathtaking and the staff is overall super! I would stay here again and again! Though the rates are on the high side, you will know why when you are there!

Cookie-cutter luxury
By Wendy, 5/10/05
I live in Tucson, and went to the Westin for a weekend getaway. There was nothing wrong with the hotel, but little that seemed special about it either. Our first room overlooked construction, so we were moved to another room that was, down to the art on the walls, identical to the first. The hotel just felt generic--felt like we could have been anywhere in the world. We were neither impressed nor unimpressed by the service. One plus: a wonderful bathroom with a big tub and awesome fluffy robes. And the spa is nice--though odd. The men's relaxing area has a big screen television, etc., but there is nothing like that in the women's relaxing area. There is also a slide popular with kids. People coming to Tucson could find more authentic, interesting places to stay. But again--there wasn't anything wrong with the resort; it just didn't make much of an impression.

AWESOME HOTEL
By katherinem, 9/9/04
This is a wonderful hotel. I have been going to it since high school prom in '85. They are always renovating to keep up with the times and keeping it clean. Waking in the morning to the golf courses and seeing coyote, rabbits, and roadrunners is awesome. I highly recommend.
