By Anna, 2/2/13
Had a great room and the view outside was spectacular! The desk made us feel welcome and we talked to them every time we left the hotel. Only thing i would suggest is booking this at SweetHotelDeals. N e t.

Wonderful Vacation Overall
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/17/09
We were very lucky and were upgraded to a suite with a fantastic view! We found the staff to be very friendly, the food good, (but expensive), the tennis courts to be expensive (and lots of cracks), the extra service fee of $15 per night, unwarranted, and the valet parking costly. Lots of great places to eat nearby, all day hikes very close by, and malls nearby as well. The pool has an adult section, which was well received, and overall we had a great time. Nothing better than breakfast on the terrace of your room with a fantastic view. The shower had lots of gadgets, and the tub held two. We would go back!

Absolutely worth every penny!
By Kim, 1/15/09
My family and I fell in love with this hotel. It has everything and all of it with a touch of class. All of the staff is wonderful. The pool with it's lavish waterfalls and waterslides, swim up bars, weekend pool side bands, movies by the pool... , that's just the pool. The spa is to die for, the shops are gorgeous, the food is divine in every way, all with stunning views. Golf, tennis, and the list goes on. There is just too much to list about this wonderful place and we will continue to go there and create fond memories with every visit.

OK nothing great.
By T M, 8/30/08
Walked in without reservation mid August. Occupany rate roughly 25%-40%. 40% being generous. It took over two (2) hours to get a room. Front Desk and House Service did not communicate. Bottom line we waqsted an afternoon waiting for a room. The $159.oo room rate realy meant about $180+ a night, resort fee, resort tax, etc. Average lunch at the pool $50-$75.00 daily two sandwiches and a alcoholic drink apiece. 18% tip included. For those prices I can stay at the Phoenician in Scottsdale and stay at a real 4-5 star resort.

What a GREAT \"STAYCATION\"
By Robert, 6/16/08
I celebrated my girlfriends 50th birthday, with a staycation at La Paloma. Yes a "staycation" considering we reside in Tucson its not a vacation. It was BETTER! Close to home,no flights, even went home to let the dog out... And WOW your staff was great!!!!! Pool-side service was awesome.. We will tell all our friends... Thank You!

Good location, not worth money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/12/08
This hotel is set in a beautiful location and has wonderful amentities but they charge a resort fee even if you do nothing while there and also charge for valet parking and make it inconvenient to self-park. While a guest, there were outside functions that didn't allow me to self-park my car at the hotel. I was forced to valet park and pay $12 for the privilege. Positives are that the rooms are spacious and clean. The food was always very good and during the summer the hotel had "dive in" movies at the pool on weekend nights which my son really enjoyed. Overall I have a hard time paying $10 per night for a resort fee that wasn't included in my vacation package

Squeamish Beware
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/15/07
This was a great resort with a beautiful view overlooking the mountains. The only thing I would say is, if you are squeamish about creepy-crawlies, you might want to stay elsewhere. In reality, I didn't actually see any (except for a huge beetle greeting me in my hotel room), but from my cab driver telling me about the time he cleared a rattle snake from the front entrance, to the front desk clerk telling me that "tarantulas are more scared of you are than you are of them," I had a really hard time relaxing. Every time I felt an itch on my ankle, I was convinced some sort of creature was crawling over my foot! But aside from my paranoia, it was a beautiful setting and a nice resort.

We will return!

Had a delightful week in this low keyed lovely resort. Even the air smelled good. We especially enjoyed the salt water pools and the prompt service.

Good hotel - just very expensive for a stay
By DavidS, 3/7/07
The hotel is very nice, and the views of the mountains at the foothills are superb; however, it all comes at a very high price. The only complaint I would have about the hotel is its room rates. $200 + a night for a room is over-priced for a hotel of this caliber, and the prices for meals on site arent any more reasonable. This is certainly a hotel for those with discriminating tastes, but for those on a budget or traveling with children, you may want to look elsewhere.
