Incredible experience!
By ,
I took my partner to Firesky to celebrate his birthday. I had some unusual requests and they were accommodated WAY beyond my expectation, and our whole stay was perfect from check in to check out! I travel a lot for work and have stayed in some of the finest resorts in the country and I have never received service as good as we got here. The room was perfect. The staff was incredible. The property was gorgeous! I will definitely come back again and again!

An older property, but still nice.
I spent three nights at the FireSky recently. My expectations were low due to reading review of the property being little more than a glorified motor lodge. Take these review with a grain of salt. Yes, the property is older and does in some aspects resemble a motor lodge. However, the staff was extremely courteous, friendly, and helpful, the facilities are well kept given the age, and the location can't be beat.

A Griswold Vacation
By ,
We booked 5 nights at this resort to get away from construction being done at our house. When we arrived, the rooms very very warm and stuffy, we assumed it would get better, it didn't. Then we went to put a movie in for our 2 year old, the dvd player didn't work. After waiting for over a half hour for the "engineer", we were told it was broke and they would have to bring in a new TV. It was after 8:30 and by this time our little one just wanted to go to sleep. We were told that in the morning, we could just switch rooms. The next day ( after a warm sleep), we called the front desk and they told us that we would be getting a call to change rooms after 3pm. Fine. We went out to the pool. Now I will say my son LOVED LOVED LOVED the pool. Sand bottom, shallow, and he thought he was hot stuff in there. So, we took the other problems in stride as he was so happy there. Next, we got a call at 1:30 that our new rooms was ready. We packed up all of our stuff ( including my sleeping son) to move, only to discover the room was NOT ready. Back to our original room. Four hours later and after 5pm, we moved into the new room to discover that that dvd player didnt work... New engineer came out and wound up fixing the player in our ORIGINAL room... Okay... lets just go back to the pool where our son is happy, cause at this point, he wasn't. Only to discover a sign saying that the pool would be CLOSED for a week!!! What? No one told us this when we checked in!!!! At this point, we just wanted to go home. I talked to the front desk who offered us gift certificates in exchange for our unused nights (no thank you) and when I went to get my husband and song at the pool to take them home, my 2 year old picked up a HUGE blue chunk of GLASS!!!! That was it... couldn't get worse, right? WRONG!!! When I got home and was doing online banking, my account was OVER DRAWN!!!! Guess why? The Fire sky resort (due to a glitch in their system) over charged my bank card over $2,000!!!! Still waiting on a manager to contact me about how to clear this up!!! Wow... that was a BAD 24 hours!!!

Gross

The resort was old, dirty, our room stunk, while taking a shower, the water stopped... we called the front desk and they said they had to turn it off due to a leak. In the next room was a family with a baby that cried all night long. We requested a quiet room and it was not quiet. When we received our bill, we were charged extra for the bell boy and housekeeping.... We never even used the bell boy and since when are you charged for "housekeeping"?

Great Place
By ,
I enjoyed my second stay at Firesky and it was just as great as the first time. The staff is wonderful and friendly. Rooms are older looking but clean and fresh with comfortable beds. The pet policy could use some improvement (like less of them). We received a pet goldfish to take care of while we were there it was so cute!! The pool was a little dirty and there was not enough security to monitor the 20 somethings. However, overall it was a great weekend and I will be back!

Awesome spa experience
By ,
Loved the restaurant; previous reviews must have been before the remodel. The food was great and the breakfast staff were just the most awesome. Weather was cooler than expected yet the pool was heated and allowed for anytime swimming. Spa staff are friendly and kind. The treatments were fabulous. We had a suite that was perfect for three women on a weekend spa getaway; three bathrooms, three closets and three beds. Located on a busy road and yet we never noticed road noise. Overall just a wonderful vacation made all the better by the kind and gracious service.

Will definately go back!!!!
By ,
I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!! We booked a package deal for the hotel & airfare through Yahoo Travel and planned on a "spa" weekend because the hotel also has a Jurlique spa. It was about a 15 minute cab ride from the airport. The staff was SO friendly and accomodating-and quick. Because the resort is not very large, room service was there within 15 minutes - and resonably priced I might add. The pool area is not that large, but it does match the hotel size. There was a wedding on Saturday night - it was decorated beautifully. Perfect location too - we took the hotel shuttle a couple times, but also walked to restaurants/shops. Rooms and general hotel area was very clean, but there was some pool debris that lingered. The manicurist in the spa said they had just redid the entire inside and all the rooms-the new Italian restaurant in the hotel had not yet opened. But the ambiance was great - multiple patios and small tables/chairs around the pool area perfect for sipping cocktails and relaxing in a beautiful setting. I HIGHLY recommend Medizona for dinner. Zagat rated restaurant-a beautiful combination of Mediterranean and Southwestern food. Not all entrees are typical (we tried the baklava with rabbit and scallops in a puff pastry for appetizer), but they exude taste and originality. The inside was small and intimate and music selection was great. Despite many recommendations, I didn't like Ibiza at all. The food was burnt, the restaurant smelled like bathroom cleaner and there was water all over the ladies room floor. Later in the night it turned into what appeared to be a cheesy pick up joint. But the Sangria was pretty good. I also recommend a hot air ballon ride-it was absolutely breathtaking!!I think it was just under $200 per person but worth every single penny. I'm from NY and this was my first time in AZ-the views of the mountains were incredible. You can book it through the hotel concierge-they picked us up around 5 am and the ride ended around 9 followed by a champagne breakfast. They also do sunset balloon rides November through March.
