Great resort and spa
By Jeffrey, 11/08/09
Awesome experience. Great rooms, property, service, clean and friendly. We stayed there over the labor day weekend. We were treated very well.

Exceptionally Charming
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/05/08
I am staying at the hotel and this is my third night here. The grounds are majestic, like stepping back in time. The staff are wonderful and call you by name. T Cook's restaurant was delicious and I could not be happier with this hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a special, romantic treat.

The best service in Phoenix
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/25/08
The resort itself is beautiful and relaxing but the real gem is T-Cooks. The service, food and setting are one of a kind. The service I received in the restaurant rivals any 5* experience that I've had the pleasure of enjoying in other restaurants. The service staff went above and beyond my expectations. The food was on par with any fine dining establishment. The resort is one of the most beautiful that I've ever encountered.

Mediocre
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/08/07
The hotel setting is lovely. The food at T. Cook's is average for a restaurant of its class. The service is pretentious. It is especially terrible at T. Cook's. Overall, The Royal Palms was a big disappointment.

Obnoxious and offensive service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/02/07
The place is awesome to see, but the staff, especially in the dining room, seem to think that it is sophisticated to be condescending to guests. It isn't. It is simply obnoxious and offensive. I'll never stay there again nor refer anybody to the hotel or restaurant, T. Cook's. It is really a shame, since this is certainly one of the most lovely hotels in the United States.

Not A Real Destination Anymore
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/07
This used to be a real jewel. The hotel has recently undergone some extensive renovations and the hotel facility and restaurant are still truly beautiful. However, the staff, particularly in the Royal Palms restaurant (T. Cook's) have become arrogant, unpolished and seemingly disinterested in being a "real" haute restaurant. Unless the Royal Palms gets its priorities straight, I fear it is destined to become a hotel that caters to the "Prom" crowd that is only interested in ambiance and is willing to sacrifice quality service. I hear that serious foodies and travelers (e.g., Robb Report readers) are already taking this place off their list of places to visit and dine.

Hated to leave
By bookgirl, 08/15/07
I hated to leave, and couldn't wait to post this review when we arrived back home. The ambiance was nostalgic and dreamy. No matter where you might be standing on the grounds, you will feel like you are living within a painted watercolor masterpiece. The staff anticipated our every whim. Dinner and lunch recommendations by Royal Palms staff for nearby eateries were first rate. The staff had directions to recommended restaurants printed for us and waiting in our car. The people who staff the Royal Palms are comfortable and delightful, and after our stay here, I would never book any other hotel in Phoenix. Well worth the price.

Beautiful place...
By Rachel, 03/26/06
The Royal Palms has the most beautiful grounds I have seen and the atomsphere of an exclusive luxury property. The staff are wonderful and accomodating. The restaurant was delicious, the pool relaxing and wonderful, and the spa services excellent. The only issue to keep in mind is that given the expense of the hotel, I anticipated a much larger, more luxurious room. While the deluxe casita was decorated very nicely, it was quite small and the bathroom was not nearly as nice as mine at home.
