Bang for the buck? No way, Jose!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/07
I never mind spending money for something that's worth it, but it's sad to see hard-earned $$$$$ just go down the drain for nothing. Our cavelike room had little light and virtually no ventilation. With the hot weather upon us, a bit of air would have been a pleasure. Led to believe we'd be eating like royalty while there, it was also a huge disappointment to find that the food bordered on atrocious (with the exception of one very enjoyable chocolate-based dessert). Somehow they've managed to perpetuate a myth that they have something special to offer. They don't. Myths are made to be "busted," aren't they? The real scoop? Don't waste your time and money on pretension. There are too many other wonderful travel opportunities with real value.

Do Not Go Here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/07
It's in a beautiful location, but it is not at all as advertised. The food is terrible-- I mean, truly, terrible. The best meal I had on this trip was the sandwich I got at the Phoenix airport on my way home. Seriously. The owners are self-aggrandizing blowhards whose idea of an historical tour includes talking at length about how many times they appeared in tourism magazines. We tried to ask for some of the promised services that we felt were being left out-- and to bring up some of the problems, but our concerns were rudely dismissed.

We go every year!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/16/06
Isolated, and we like it that way. Gives us an opportunity to regain our sense of "center" and "balance" without input from the usual hubbub of daily life. Bring a good book and get ready to rediscover your sense of "self". Gorgeous views, fantastic food, spend hours in the saddle with very agreeable wranglers and horses. Fabulous food. If you want or need the glitz of Vegas, this place is not for you. If you are looking to find yourself and get a new lease on life and the more important things, this is absolutely the best place you will ever find. Family friendly; perfect for couples and singles too. Not for folks who need outside artificial stimulation. Good food, good riding, good rooms -- what more can you ask for?!!

A Most Expensive Junkyard
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/31/06
Their prices had hidden service charges and did not equal value of the accomodations we received. We were charged for a suite and given a small room. There was rubbish all over the riding trails...plastic bottles, bags and clothing for miles! Meals were often served cold with few or no options. The management was distant and haughty.

You couldnt pay me to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/04
The owner was rude to me and promised me several things that they did not deliver. The horses looked old and sick and some fell down. There were no all day rides and there was lots of trash on the trails. The schedules were rigid and they were uncompromising to other plans. I would not return, nor would any of the other people who stayed there while we were there.
