Extremely disappointed
I booked a night at this hotel through Priceline to extend my Tucson trip with my girlfriend for an extra night in December 2004. I had attended college in Tucson so I knew the city and the area. The area was adequate, across from Reid Park and near the busy business district along Broadway.
When we checked in, we were sent to a room in the far corner of the hotel, even though the parking lot was not very crowded. When we opened the door, there was a cart of computer equipment blocking our way into the room. We drove back to the front desk (this property is rather big with a tower and two-story building). When we told the front desk about the cart, they called engineering to remove the cart and checked us in to another room near our original room.
We settled into our second room and found there to be a dented, rusted small refrigerator in the room. The room was otherwise clean and adequate. However, when we went to leave, we could not lock our door. The lock was broken.
When we returned to the hotel from dinner, we told the front desk that our room was not usable because the lock was broken and they were going to check us into another similar room. However, I indicated this was not acceptable and they decided to give us a room in the tower. I appreciated that offer and accepted.
The room was usable. However, there were some mysterious dark stains on the comforter. There were also water stains on the ceiling. We decided that because it was late, we would bare with it.
I have had great experiences in other Doubletree locations. However, I cannot recommend this property.
