Small, dirty, dated rooms. Staff was about the worst I've experienced and I travel a tonne. I was also robbed while there so the kick back non-possession people I've read about must truly like other people's stuff. Expensive. I cannot find a decent thing to say about the place other than the views but then you see those without staying here so they can't have the monopoly on that. I agree with the staff written review comment, there's no way a sane logical customer could give this hotel any kind of strong rating.

Most poor responses see censoring truthful accurate accounts on how bad this hotel is. I travel a lot - United 1K and Alaska Gold 75K, Intercontinental Platinum, and Marriott Silver. This was one of the worst nasty places I have been forced to stay for work. Save you money! The hotel is dated, the staff steals (or potentially didn't care to secure my room during cleaning), and the management could care less. There's so many better places to stay don't be fooled by the staff written positive comments. I find it highly improbable many people liked this hotel unless they enjoy their paycheck from it.

I just stayed at the hotel Alyeska and there is no way on earth somebody could give this place more than 1 star. Yep, one star. The rooms were nasty, the staff could care less about customers, the food was overpriced and horrible, the AC/heat didn't work, beds were brutal, etc etc etc. Just plain old outright bad hotel to stay at. I'll challenge you - stay here and you'll see your money wasted and it will taint one of the coolest places you can visit on earth. Alaska is great so do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else and don't ruin your experience. I must assume every rating above a one was written by a staff person putting further shame on this place. Maybe someday a real investor will redo this place, gut the staff and processes, and create an environment worthy of the destination. Even after that happens they'll never see me staying there again. No how no way never.

the room was good inside but noisy due to people arriving by the coach load from cruise tours. the finishes were great and the hot tub wonderful. but check your bill carefully. every visit to the restaurant was overcharged, and the staff were nonchalant almost to the point of rudeness.

1st class facility with 2nd class staffing. Other than the Concierge and the ski staff, this place needs a lot more trained staff. The restaurants were slow and houskeeping always missed doing something. The location is spectacular and the town of Girdwood has great restaurants. We went there with a ski group for a week. The mountain is mediocre with too many snowboarders pushing the snow around. There are lots of other great activities like snow mobiling and dog sledding. Hopefully the new owner (who is a skier) will expand the mountain and get some professional staff management into the hotel.

Arrived 7/29 in the evening from Seward on Royal Caribbean (RC) Train Car as part of our RC Alaska Land Tour. Departed next day 7/30. Would have liked to stay a 2nd night. The Alyeska is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. The footpaths are wonderful for hiking (we saw a moose grazing in a field). Rode the tram to top of ski run and liked the view. Would have liked to arrive 1st day earlier and skip SeaLife Center in Seward to be able to enjoy the surroundings of the hotel & hotel itself.

We went to this hotel for 3 days on our honeymoon in July. The View is unbelieveable and the hotel is gorgeous. There is so much to do there, and just a wonderful experience for anyone. Taking the Tram to the top of the mountain and enjoying the view from the restaraunt is a must. Highly recommend this Hotel especially for couples!

My first night in Alaska, long flight, giddy with anticipation, not having a clue as to what was going to be. Here I am at this extraordinary hotel! Restaurant in the sky, heated towel racks, a lobby that is overwhelming & a staff that could not be more accommodating. Welcome to Alaska, it started my adventure into utopia in such a positive way which continued & continued & continued. It does not get any better than this!

What a beautiful, clean hotel. The atmosphere is out of a Currier and Ives scene. Too bad the service doesn't match. When we booked are very expensive romantic get away we were told it wasn't crowded and there was plenty of parking. When we arrived the lot was packed and the only other place to park was across the main road in an isolated parking lot. A trip through the cold Alaska wilderness at night was not a great way to start our weekend. Upon checking in we were told of a Valet service available. The catch was an additional $20.00 fee. On top of the $190.00 room charge.

How could one not love this place? Set amidst the beauty of Alaska, in either Winter or Summer, the Alyeska Hotel is one classy resort hotel. In winter it's a skier's wonderland and in summer it's paradise found. The brilliant food at the restaurant at the top of the tram fills both your stomach and your soul with the incredible views of The Last Frontier.
