Capitol Inn, Montgomery

At the Alabama visitor center, we had asked for a place in the historic district of Montgomery. From the exterior, it looks old... not impressive. The room has seen better days. It was clean, but looks like it could use new paint, new carpet, a new look. I liked the balcony overlooking the city, and the old oak tree just outside the window. I liked the location and the price of the room. However, the best part was sitting in the dining room the next morning and having breakfast in the old fifties style dining room, looking at photos of the hotel from days when it was new and modern. Good food, and good service there. People were friendly. We did not use the pool, nor go to the bar. There was a bus stop just across the street if you didn't want to drive your car into the downtown area. We decided to drive into town and take a trolley tour... excellent way to see historic Montgomery, only a $1 for the day.

On behalf of Waterloo High School, our softball team, and our parents, we want to commend you & your staff for the hospitality and kindness during our recent stay in Montgomery. This was our 9th or 10th trip to the state softball tournament and this was without a doubt our best accommodations in all those years. What you and your staff did was truly make us feel as if we were at home and we appreciate you so much. Feeding our kids after the ballgame was above and beyond and left a lasting impression. We will never forget our stay in Montgomery and should we return for business or pleasure, you can rest assured, we know where we'll be staying. Again, thanks for the warm hospitality. MY FAMILY WAS TREATED TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF SERVICE BY YOUR STAFF FROM THE MOMENT WE ARRIVED TO THE MOMENT WE LEFT. WE WOULD LIKE TO SEND A SPECIAL THANKS TO THE STAFF WHO WAS OUTSTANDING AS A HOST AT THE POOL PARTY AS WELL AS CUSTOMIZING MY STAY TO INCLUDE BASEBALL TICKETS AS WELL AS JUBILEE TICKETS. What a great place to go for the weekend. My wife and I loved the personal service and the staff was great.
