Its a no frills, no nonsense, decent hotel, for people who don't have a lot of money to spend on a room. The people don't bother you. I would definitely use it again. It is about 3 miles from UAB hospital & a very good deal if you have someone in the hospital & need a place to sleep. You can get to UAB hospital in about 10 minutes most of the time. I felt safe there & I'm from the country & don't like being in a city, but I was comfortable there.Its away from the main hustle & bustle just enough to be quiet. No one messed with any of our belongings while we were gone during the day. I like the fact you can get 3 day,5 day,or 7 day rates, if you pay for 7 days & stay four days its still cheaper than most other hotels would be for 4 days. The best way to get to it from Valley Avenue is, to turn onto the road right beside Arby's, at the light, it will be on the left, a little ways up the road. To go to UAB,turn right when you leave the hotel, go back to the light by Arbys from the hotel,turn right, at the next light turn right onto 149 & it will take you straight to UAB.To shop for necessities turn left at 149. I used cash so I really don't know about the credit cards but you could always call & ask. I'm sure they take most of them, it is a chain.
