worst hotel in town
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/7/11
i have stayed at several hotels in town for games was given a special rate of 79 a night for a wedding and was still way too expensive for the room. first the renovations they talk about equals fresh paint and color tv. the hot breakfast included cold eggs a biscuit i could have thrown through a bullet proof glass window and white "gravy" with sausage pieces. our towels were so thin it took 2 to dry off, the bed was more like a trampolene and the whole place smelled like body oder ans stale smoke. and there was a stabbing at the kareoke bar when we were there. do yourserlf a favor sleep in your car if you have too.

Decent stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/16/07
Our accomodations were fine. The hotel was clean and we had a suite so there was plenty of room for the 5 travelers in my party. The room was pricey for a hotel room in this category. The hotel was fully booked due to a girls softball tourney so there were lots and lots of kids all over the place. The staff was very nice, but did not seem at all prepared for the number of guests. Breakfast each morning would have been good, but they kept running out of things - each morning they had to make runs to the grocery store for emergency refills. Made it frustrating having to wait. The pool is small, but nicely laid out. Unfortunately with so many guests they needed to clean it more often. The 2nd day we were there I would not let the kids in because it got so dirty it scared me. We asked to have someone clean it, but that didn't happen. I think they tried hard, but just didn't appear to know what to do with a full hotel.

Just ok, nothing exceptional
By Jobs Are Here, 6/11/07
One thing I am very displeased with about this hotel is the TV content. On channel 2, a regular channel in the room, graphic content was shown during primetime hours. My girlfriend’s 8 year old daughter was with us on this trip and we were flipping channels looking for the local news and viola’… 100% full fledged pornography appeared on the TV screen. Unscrambled. Plain as day. Needless to say that we quickly changed the channel, but not before she had seen it and shortly there after, the questions stated, “what were that man and woman doing?” NOT A GOOD SITUATION at all. Be warned if you have children in the room and are channel surfing. Best Western will be receiving a formal complaint from me on this matter. On with the rest of the review. I stayed at this hotel for a business trip the week of June 4, 2007. I chose to stay there because it was only 2 miles away from my business location. Overall I would rate it decent by common standards. Rooms were normal sized and had the usual amenities. They were clean. The pool was small and seemed to have an unusually high bug content. Lots of ants in the concrete area surrounding the pool. Big ants too! As with most hotels these days, free high speed wireless internet was available in the rooms. I brought my laptop, but my card was not working. The front desk had one they loaned me for free. That was nice. I was able to get my laptop up and running after that and use my own card. The front desk staff was very friendly and courteous. I was perplexed though, one day we never got room service, and needed more towels. The front desk had them, but I just thought that was odd. The free continental breakfast (why do they call it that anyway?) was somewhat acceptable. Each day the variety of “pre-packaged” good varied, but basically you got to choose between drinking Orange Juice or Apple Juice, and eating: 3 types of cereal – fruit loops (what I ate), corn flakes, and raisin bran Toast – they used 3 toasters while I was there, only 1 worked Bagels – didn’t eat, don’t like them Waffles – make yourself using batter and a griddle Sausage biscuits – 2 per microwavable package Grits – Pre-packaged. It may have been oatmeal tool. I don’t like either, so didn’t look too hard at the packages. Pecan spin wheels Danish and cinnamon rolls White powdered donuts The hotel is just a short drive from most major restaurants and the Auburn campus. For the price we paid, I would probably look elsewhere next time, simply because I’ve since learned there are newer and nicer hotels in the same area that offer more for the same price.

Avoid at all costs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/28/07
Had a reservation for 2 nights. The reservation had been made over 2 months ahead of time. When we got there we were given a story about overbooking and we had no rooms. To make it worse, they had taken it upon themselves to book us rooms at a DUMP IN ANOTHER TOWN. They never bothered to contact us ahead of time to ask if this was ok. Gave us a story about not knowing how to contact us even though I had given them my phone number and email when the room was reserved and a fax number at which I received a confirmation. The manager was extremely hateful. We have stayed literally all over the country and in other nations and this was, beyond a doubt, the most negative place I have ever encountered. Called the Best Western customer service and got the run around-they promised to call back but never did. With many other options I will never trust Best Western again.

All wrong
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/22/07
We had reserved a non-smoking room and it was not available because they had overbooked. The sink in the bathroom was broken, you could not turn on the cold water and the handle kept falling off. The staff was pleasant but did not seem to really care or attempt to do anything to fix the situation. Avoid at all costs.

Don't Do It!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/17/06
This was the worst motel I have ever experienced. The first room we got smell of animal urine so bad that we had to get another room. That room had a bathtub drain back up and took all day to get someone to fix it. My husband's prescription medication was stolen out of our closed suitcase. The motel's only answer is "sorry". I will never again stay at any Best Western because of the experience!

Awful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/14/05
This place is nasty. It is located next to the only late night college bar in town. It doesnt quiet down until four or five in the morning. Go stay in Montgomery or Columbus

terrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/04
The worst hotel stay I have ever had! The floor(carpet) was damp- yuck. There were roaches crawling in the tissue box-gross! The people at the desk- I'm sorry- the person (only 1) at the desk was less than helpful and had a "Oh, well," attitude when I explained how dissatisfied I was. Refund? No. I will NEVER stay there again!
