Days Inn Hilton Head Island, Hilton Head Island

We stayed from July 22nd-July 25th. We usually do not send feedback, but we feel it is necessary for you to know the condition of this hotel. When you enter the lobby, you are welcomed by fans and barely any air conditioning along with a desk you cannot pass without be grabbed by nagging salesmen trying to recruit guest to visit Timeshare properties. It got to the point we just put out head down and rushed out. We stayed on the third floor of this hotel. The first thing that we noticed was when we opened the door to the hallway leading to our room, there was a HORRIBLE stench of dead rodents. Usually we can deal with an random hotel smell, but this was such a potent smell that it made me sick to my stomach. Another guest walked past us with a new can of Lysol that she found necessary to make her room tolerable. We complained to the desk attendant who denied that anyone has ever complained, which was a lie since we looked up online an saw MANY other similar comments. Check Tripadvisor.com. We also spoke to the manager and he said that there has never been a complaint on the smell and never had a rodent problem. I found that strange since as soon as you walk out the front door you see a big rodent box. As for the room, it was ok. Thank goodness we did bring our room freshener from home! I went to use the bathroom and when I lifted the top I saw several pubic hairs on the seat. Obviosly it had not been cleaned. Nasty!!! There were peanuts on the floor next to one of the beds and when we opened one of the drawers, we found a supply of dirty underwear. I do have pictures of all of the things I spoke of, if you would like to see them please contact me and I can forward them. We have learned a lesson from this experience, ALWAYS check the reviews!! This hotel had horrible reviews dating back to 2007!! Something really needs to be done to bring this hotel to the standard.

My husband and I went to Hilton Head to check out the area for a future move. We wanted an inexpensive stay, and we got that at the Days Inn. The location was great. It is close to everything and is right behind a putt putt course and a diner. The room was not the best, with some smells, but it is easy to fix with a can of Lysol and closing the bathtub drain when not in use. The staff was great also. We would stay here again.

Room smelled of mold...where you hang your clothes there was a bag of fluid hanging from the pole with MOLD in it. The chair next to the bed was filthy....spread had holes, toliet backed up. We were only there for three days, thank goodness

Checked in and wasn't pleased with the room. Bedbugs, had bites all over my shoulder, loud a/c, uncomfortable bed, musty smell, supposed to had wireless internet connection but couldn't get it. The maid would show up at 9am and not even knock. Reported it to the staff, but they acted as if they didn't care. I ended up checking out after the second night, was overcharged on my bill,but got it straightened out. It's not worth the price, will not be going back.

This place was filthy and the front desk might as well have been closed for all the help they were! Beware of the Bed Bugs! They are there!

Do not stay at the Days Inn at Hilton Head Island, SC if you expect any kind of service or if you expect a clean, smelling room. The carpet in the halls and the rooms were filthy. The room smelled awful. Room had roaches. The Days Inn sign was not lit because the light was out, and when I mentioned it to the night clerk the clerk said, yes, they new. But did they fix it, No! We couldn't find the hotel even with the directions from the night clerk (who was quite rude by the way.)

The hotel was very clean and kept up very well. This was our first trip to Hilton Head and we weren't sure what to expect. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the continental breakfast was very nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable,the only complaint was the carpet was damp arround the air conditioning unit. The housekeeping girls were very through and friendly, but they had a little problem with English. But, any request was taken care of immeditely by the office. The pool area was great and very peaceful. It was kept very nice and clean. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Hilton Head , and we will be back to visit.
