University Inn At Duke Hospital, Durham

Likes: Front desk staff were helpful and courteous. Close to downtown Durham area. Dislikes: Chair in sitting area in room had broken back. Under sofa needed cleaning. Tub water stopper didn't work; couldn't take a bath. Parking was tight; normally only have room for one vehicle per room; fortunately we could park both cars as they were not fully booked.

This place is not a bad place to stay. Stayed for 4 nights and was happy with the room and the service. The shuttle helped if you didn't want to walk. Although it was an easy walk to the hospital so the shuttle was not necessary. I would stay again. But hopefully don't have to.

We stayed there once, my husband goes pretty often, he sees a few docs @ Duke. Univ. Inn is very close but, not so clean or nice needs updated badly!!! You can stay a couple miles away, much nicer & better $$$ Holiday Inn Express is one to check out! They are great to our family and sick husband! Also the Millenium is very nice!!!

Very comfortable room, especially comfy beds and fine shower. The staff met our every need. Great value, and so near Duke Med Center that we didn't have to drive, an easy walk. Quiet and clean. We highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed last June for our daughter's surgery. We were there a week and had no issues. Room was sufficient, no issues, clean, tidy, and WiFi in room.

I have a family member who is frequently hospitalized at Duke and we live in Indiana (15 hours away). I have stayed at the University Inn on several occassions. The most recent was for 11 days in Feb '08. The rooms are not fancy but they are clean and the staff is wonderful. I am headed back to Durham next week and it is where I always stay. Free high speed internet, friendly staff, clean rooms. The Brookwood Inn is next door and I wouldn't stay there if I had to stay on the other side of Durham and pay parking in the hospital lot.

We have a sister at Duke Hospital...(for months on end). This requires us to stay close by the hospital. We have tried both the close hotels...this is by far the best!! It isn't where I would want to go on vacation, but it's great for staying close to the hospital. Huge rooms, free breakfast, nice staff, comfortable beds, u can walk to Duke or shuttle. STAY HERE!!!

We stay here once a year when attending an event in Durham. The rooms are extremly spacious and have always been clean. You can't beat the price for a place you just want to a place to sleep and clean up. The parking, however, is another story. There's very little available under the building and the spaces are EXTREMLY tight!!

We stayed and it was nice. The only thing i did not like was the parking. It was tight little spaces. Not enough room when backing out. The people were excellent. They told us about a Italin place to eat within walking distance of the hospital. Best food i have eaten in some time. I plan on staying there again if we have to visit Duke.
