BEST WESTERN Left Bank St. Germain, Paris

NOTE: The picture on the web site of a big modern hotel is NOT this hotel. It is a cozy, lovely place (only about 30 rooms I think) that sits just off the rue Saint Germain. Very convenient to walking the Left Bank, inches from restaurants (expensive and not). Street can be busy (but not terribly noisy like "night" streets (e.g. Saint Andre des Arts) nearby. Windows are well soundproofed so I recommend a room over the street. Rooms small but larger than many typical French hotels. Excellent storage. Generous Continental breakfast, and the breakfast rooms are arranged to make conversation easy, nice for a single traveler. Very congenial desk staff, wait staff, room staff - I had several special requests and all were taken care of with good humor. One gripe: Paid WiFi, it should be free but I find that in Paris many places are paid that are free in the US.

This is a lovely little hotel located in a perfect area...easy to walk to just about every major attraction, safe and beautiful area..the staff are pleasant and helpful, the rooms, while small, are comfortable and full of charm, with modern bathrooms. Breakfast (buffet) is more than sufficient and served in a quaint little dining room. Definitely a great deal for the price.

I honestly loved EVERYTHING about this place. The staff were more than accomodating. They were knowledgable and helpful all the while smiling... kind and pleasant! I felt they went out of their way on several occasions for my daughter and I. (We were there 2 weeks) The rooms were clean, well equipped, stylish. The breakfast was great...we got everything we wanted...and even ordered it in some days! It was always brought to us with a smile and there was always...too much to eat...though we sure tried! :) The neighborhood was so nice...very upscale and close to Metro. The laundry mat was just feet from the hotel...little bakeries..tiny groceries...wine shops..pastry shops...all just a hop from our hotel. We actually miss the place and are already planning our next trip this year!

What a great hotel!!! It was so much more than I hoped it would be, everything was perfect. The staff was very friendly, the room was spacious, warm and cosy. They put up the christmasdecorations the 2nd day of our stay and that only made it more romantic. Breakfast was very nice as well. They surprised us several times with a little present in the room.The location is also super,a lot of little restaurants around the hotel and you're only a few steps away from the subway and the Seine. I will defenitely come back to this hotel and for a longer period.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Emailed the hotel that we would be there before check-in and would like to leave our bags: no problem. When we arrived, our room was ready and we checked in early. First impression of the hotel: nicely decorated and smelled great (like the houses of my friends who are better homemakers than me!). Room quite big and very nicely decorated, fabric walls and tiled bath, and immaculate. Also had a desk, chair, and stool for a suitcase. Twin beds, with small armoires to each side so we could full unpack and stow suitcases. Double-paned windows kept out street noise, and this room was very quiet at night. Staff very friendly and helpful with reservations, directions, etc. English no problem but tolerated my poor French. Breakfast delicious: best coffeee I had in Paris, croissant, brioche, and a pastry treat each day (you gotta love a country that lets you start the day with chocolate!) Location ideal, close to all the famous cafes, brasseries, but try Le Petit Zinc and Brasserie Saint Benoit (the former more gourmet, the latter a delicious, inexpensive meal). 1 block from the Metro and several doors from a Laduree. Street very quiet despite location (it gets busier a few blocks away). Also- very safe. I felt comfortable walking around by myself. In addition, there seemed to be a lot of local Parisians in the cafes so the area seemed less touristy than some. All-in-all a great hotel in a fabuous location!

My daughter and I stayed there while the rest of the family went on to Marseille for the Rugby. The staff were kind and helpful, especially the breakfast staff. The sheets and towels smelt good and the whole stay was very pleasant. I would definitely be taking the whole family there next time we are in Paris, because the hotel is ideally situated to Metro, RER (for Charles de Gaulle)and sites such as the Notre Dame.

This was a wonderful hotel and much to the delight of my teenage daughters on their first trip to Paris. The hotel location is outstanding within 100 yards or so from the historic Pont Neuf, only slightly longer to St. Germain. We stayed in the suite which worked out perfectly for us. Very comfortable for three. The room was spotless. The concierge was outstanding and obtained with a week's notice 4th row seats to a Saturday night performance at the Opera Grandier, and for face value! They were very helpful in every way for restaurant reservations, car service, directions .. The breakfast room is classic Parisien. My children were so impressed and truly felt the history of Paris.

My family and I stayed here in early July last year - during the height of the US / France bashing in the media. i met many american there and everybody was a great experience with french people in the hotel and even in the street. the people were fantastic. I like the Left bank saint germain in general but they were extra special here. My 3 year old daughter was treated like a little princess by everyone she met. The location is great - right next to the notre dame's church and near the Musee D'Orsay / Louvre.

While there are so many good hotels in Paris, one of my favorites is the "Best Western Hotel Left Bank", located right in St. Germain des Pres. The rooms, while smallish, are beautifully appointed in rich wood, views of the Paris rooftops, exposed wood beamed ceilings, beautiful marble bathrooms. The staff there is extremely pleasant and helpful and totally bi-lingual!! The location is perfect...10 minute walk to Notre Dame, 15 minutes to the Louvre...and just 1-2 minutes from many cafes, restaurants, shops......this is a wonderful, well priced place to be in Paris!!

its a really nice hotel in saint germain des pres. The rooms are quite and clean and have a "french look", so lots of carpets and french interior. breakfast is good. really liked it a lot staying there while i was in paris the last time. price is not very expensive if you book it on the official website
