Courtyard Williamsburg, Williamsburg

Room was dirty-. bathroom was particuarly so. Staff indicated that they would address issues; however they did not.

My company is HQ'd nearby. Important criteria in my hotel selection is strong Internet access and good cellphone reception (I work for an Internet based business). Unfortunately the hotel didn't fare well in this area. The wired Internet in the hotel room is advertised as 50x faster than dialup. It was barely 5x as fast (it was testing at 250 to 400 kb up and down speeds). It couldn't be a load issue, the hotel was empty and it was like this any time of day or night. I called the Internet tech support number and they said the hotel was showing full T-1 service and that was working properly when I called. They said that this was all they could do and to call the hotel if I still had problems. I complained to the hotel many times and never got any assistance except to be told I could try the PC in the lobby, or the wireless up there (not practical). Over two days no one took care of or rectified the situation. This was unacceptable. I know that cellphone reception is more difficult to control. However, service from various cell providers was difficult to receive. I enjoyed the rest of the hotel but I was disappointed with the Internet reception, the responses, and so I can't recommend that this Courtyard hotel in the future for business travel.

my husband and i loved this place.it was so clean,the room was great,we had internet,a pool and a great breakfast buffet .right down the street is busch gardens and water country with in 2 miles !! we loved it ,and highly recommend this marriot for couples and families!

We were totally disappointed in the service received at this particular Courtyard. We stayed there several years ago and chose to stay at this hotel because of the service received previously. We arrived at the hotel approximately 8:15p.m. and didn't get checked in until approx. 8:35p.m. The person behind the desk was dealing with another guest and had a technician on the phone. He did acknowledge that I was there by saying I will be right with you. After, finally getting checked in we went to our room in which we found the door ajar. We asked if anyone was in there and didn't get a response so we proceeded to go into the room. We could tell somebody had been lying across one of the beds. We pressed 0 to call the front desk and got an automated recording to press a zillion different options. Finally, after not being able to reach the front desk I walked downstairs to find a man still waiting for his room keys This man was in line behind me when I was there about 15 mins. prior. The front desk clerk said that he'd change the linen personally as soon as he could get someone to cover him at the desk. We left the hotel to allow enough time for our room to be cleaned. Once we got back I went into the restroom and behind the door was hair and lint. I was curious of what else in the room that I couldn't see. The next morning my husband and child decided to go down for a swim at 7:00a.m. and found the door to the pool area locked. It was suppose to have been opened at 6:00a.m. A man came and let them in. My husband said towels were lying every where because they had not cleaned up the area from the night before. He tried to call the front desk again by using the phone in the pool area by pressing 0 and the same thing happened...he was never routed to front desk. He was calling to report the freezing temp. of the water (inside pool). While he was in there a gentleman did come in and pickup the towels. When they got back and we all showered to prepare to go to breakfast I went to put a do not disturb sign in the door. Of course there wasn't one in the room so I had to make a note and stick in the slot. We definitely would not recommend this hotel to anybody.
