Over-priced brunch
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/11
The weekend brunch is $40 per person! The buffet is poorly laid out and not stocked. The food is common and not worth the price. Denny's has the same food and better service for a fraction of this price. Not worth it!!!

Awful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/20/11
This hotel has been without water off and on for three days. No showers, no flushing the toilets, nothing. Did they credit our accounts? Nope. Comp our drinks? Nope. Comp our food? Nope. Nothing. This is the cheapest, poorest run facility on the East Coast. DO NOT STAY AT THIS DUMP. You may get lucky and nothing happens. But if something goes wrong you will get ZERO help from this management.

Mixed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/11/09
Beach was wonderful and staff was very helpful with recommendations and requests. Location wasn't great if you wanted to be able to walk to different places, took a cab everywhere (instead of renting a car and paying very high daily valet prices). The rooms are nice, but on older side, especially bathroom. Biggest complaint was my daughter waking up with A Lot of bug bites in the morning. Even after they changed the sheets she continued to have this problem. If you go, ck the mattress for bed bugs, we should have!!!

You Decide!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/4/08
We read wonderful things and couldn't wait to go! YIKES! We saw rats running around everynight. Yes, RATS! front desk was little concerned. ~ They said that they would call their exterminator, Orkin, again. On my 3rd night, I actually screamed. My son was trying to photograph them. Stayed Aug 14 -18. Hotel staff could care less. When confronting them they apologized and smiled and told me to have a nice day in the same breath. Can't believe I wasted my summer vacation. Everytime I entered the hotel I thought of the rats! Of course they must be in the restaurants! 4 STARS NO WAY!!!!!

Best kept secret - great atmosphere
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/24/08
I just loved our time at the Pelican. We didn't want to leave! The room was beautiful, clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. Housekeeping and staff were very attentive. Check-in was a breeze. The lobby is very pretty. Everything was clean, clean, clean. The balconies and views are unbelievable!! Food in the restaurants were delicious. We have a double queen suite on the ocean. Incredible! I loved the long winding deck/porch at beach level - so relaxing. I just can't say enough. Be sure to ask for ocean side. But all of the rooms have beautiful views especially if you are above the 3rd or 4th floor. Intracoastal on one side and Ocean on the other. Shopping and restaurants were within minutes.

Would love to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/23/08
My husband and I were there for four days in March 2008 and loved it. Very relaxing, staff was wonderful. My only complaint was that there was no warning about the jellyfish in the water (found out later they were Portugese Man of War) or strong riptides during the very windy weather we had. Fortunately we weren't stung, but we had no idea what they were until I looked for "blue jellyfish" on the computer. Food was good but expensive. A car is definitely helpful. No problems with the in-room internet connection. If you can afford it, definitely get a room with an ocean view to enjoy the magnificant sunrise! It felt like we were on a cruise.

BEDBUGS!!!
By Rebekah Moody, 4/20/08
Our experience was awful, as we laid in bed we started itching. We took the sheets off and looked at the mattress and found bed bugs. We will never go back!

Will definitely go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/4/08
This hotel is situated right on the beach and we absolutely loved its cleanliness. The only thing that we found negative was there was only 1 restaurant and menu prices were a bit high for a family of 5. It would have been nice to have another more affordable restaurant where we could have had our meals. Other than that, we highly recommend this hotel for its location and cleanliness.
