Mountain Springs Resort, Collingwood

We went to reception which is 10 minutes away from the actual hotel and were told that we need to wait an hour later than check in time to get our room as they are running late to clean them. We finally get into our room and realize there is no toilet paper. We call and ask them for some and then we went snowboarding for a few hours. We come back at 9 pm and still no toilet paper. We open the pull out couch and found a nasty bed sheet with apple seeds and food crumbs all over it. We call the front desk and tell them we need a new room as this one is just plain nasty and obviously not cleaned. Why did we wait the hour for cleaning? Who knows? So this guy now comes at 10 pm to help us move to another room which is freezing cold and the pullout couch has no bedding on it at all. We get a blanket from this guys car and are told that’s all there is for us. In this room now the TV wasn’t working properly the kettle didn’t work, the dishes were all dirty and every towel had some sort of stain on it. We called the next day to complain about everything to management and had a hell of a time talking to one staff member who refused to let us talk directly to management. We were ready to get the heck out of there and pay to stay somewhere else for the other two nights but this lady refused to let us speak to the manager to ask for a full refund. All she kept saying was check out is at 11 am so if you want to leave than leave. In the end all they could offer us is one night free stay at a later date. As if we are going to stay there ever again. They had the worst service I have ever seen anywhere. For the money we paid to stay there is was absolutely not even close to worth it.

This resort has all the amenities. Heated pool, hot tub, tennis courts, covered parking, pool table, charcoal BBQ's, and on site restaurant. We stayed in an upgraded (renovated) suite with a 32" flat panel TV, sofabed (queen with upgraded Simmons Beautyrest mattress), Jacuzzi tub and a great view of the mountain. All suites have a deck and fully equipped kitchen. Anyone staying in the winter would have ski in - ski out priviledges and the resort sits next to the the Toronto Ski Club. The beach is only a kilometre away and you can even drive on the beach. The Village at Blue Mountain was a short 20 minute walk with many restaurants and shops. We took the free shuttle back to our suite. Lots to due in Blue Mountain as well as Collingwood and Wasaga Beach. Definitely the best deal in Blue Mountain. Can't wait to go back.

The customer service was terrible - the front desk staff was rude and when I left the front office and returned, I overheard them gossiping about my husband and I in the office behind the front desk. The room was small and dirty, the television didn't work. Although the rate was cheap, it wasn't worth the money. I would go to a motel on the main street before gracing the doors of this dump ever again.

It was very close to Blue Mountain and had a nice scenic view. The rooms were clean. What we didn't like was that the furniture was very dated. The units were very noisy as well (we had a ground floor unit and we could hear the people upstairs). We also ran out of hot water when having a shower. Value for the money was fine but if you spend a bit more, stay on site at Blue Mountain or at an Intrawest resort. Those are very well kept.

the units are well kept and practical. Right at the base of the mountain, you can walk to the intrawest village. Half the price of the intrawest hotels. What else can you ask for? Courteous staff, great facilities and less noise than the village hotels. Will definatley be back!

Very nice unit at reasonable price relative to the INTRAWEST units. We stay close to the unit on the hillside with a sizeable balcony. We are planning to go back during the Ski season.

My husband and I went to the Mountain Springs Lodge on one of those promotional deals, which by the way had nothing to do with the lodge itself, and were completely happy with our accommodations. It was especially nice to have the jacuzzi tub, in room. The unit was clean and comfortable. What little we saw of the staff were very nice and professional. Overall I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a pleasant experience. My only disappointment was that we didn't use the all season outdoor pool.(I fell asleep watching a movie) That would have been great. Next time we go there I would like to take advantage of all the lodge has to offer.
PS I would also like to say I appreciated the respect they showed the environment, asking guests to reuse their towels if they were comfortable doing so. We do at home and were more than pleased to do the same while there. Bravo!
