I think I did last trip to the Grand Wailea .
By ,
Grand means big and nice. I got the club membership to save money, dont get it its a waste of money, got marry there 13 years ago there When it was five star, didnt feel at all like it when back, just came back to it in Aug 12th 2010, last time was from then 2005. only thing my little girl like to do there was riding the horse and the helicopter and going in the ocean. the pool water was nasty, las Vegas pools are cleaner than there, the Japanese restaurant is shut down, plus looks bad. got see from my bed room love show you the pics. I Love Maui butt Not the Grand Wailea, just not the same. The western maui is next time I go Back more things to do there. the Ritz Carlton looks so much better, too.

Hard not to like, but...
By ,
The price/value was out of whack. With three kids we had to get two rooms at almost $1200 per night. For that amount of money we had a view of the parking lot on the far side of the hotel. In additon we had to get up at about 6:00 AM each morning just to have a chance at getting a reasonably good chair at the pool. Even with that however if you have children 12 and under then this is the place to be. The pool, beach, activities as well as the surrounding area are all fantastic. We would defintiely go back but would be much smarter, more cautious, and more demanding the next time just to make sure that all aspects of the stay are worth the price.

A MUST STAY FOR EVERYONE!!!!!!!
By ,
We stayed for 1 week 2 weeks ago. My two young children and husband. It is a absolute must for people with kids. VEry kid friendly. One thing to keep in mind, unless you want to walk 8-10 minutes. Get a room close to the pool. Otherwise the Molokolini and Napua tower are far from pools. THe most inexpensive restaurant and most variety was Cafe Kua, which is located next to the business center. Kind of far from some rooms but you save ALOT of money. LOVED THE SPA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE BEST

Skip the Cabana
By ,
The $300 a day cabana at the adult pool advertises "concierge service". The "concierge" is simply the waitress assigned to every other person at the pool, who aren't paying the $300. And, although the cabana is available at 7:00am, the waitress doesn't start service until 11:00am, nor does the nearby bar. We went hours with no service, then waited until 11:20am for the waitress to make it to our cabana after taking the entire pool's order. First drink delivered at 11:40am. Essentially, we paid $300 to have a little shade on demand. They need to visit a Vegas hotel to learn the meaning of "cabana concierge". And the pool food was a joke at any price. PS: The rule at they adult pool of 18 years old and up was never enforced. I saw plenty of little kids and young obnoxious teens in the pool. Why offer the relaxing adult pool next to the all ages "water park", if staff doesn't enforce the rule? I think part of the problem was large families there for weddings and reunions who didn't want to split up between the pools. Also, not the best place for a romantic, intimate couples getaway, with all the large groups, lacking decorum, taking over the spaces, forgetting they're in public, and not in their own backyards.

Heaven on Earth
By ,
I loved this place. It was the most romantic place I could have ever dreamed of. The resort was beautiful, the view was spectacular and it was hands down better than the Four Seasons - where I initially wanted to stay at. The service, the rooms, the amenities were top notch. Definitely a place to remember for a lifetime!

Awesome Experience!
By ,
We went with two toddlers (4 and 2 years old). We were worried that they would get bored..but surprisingly, they liked pools and slides a lot..We spent considerable amount of time at pools. We would do excursions either in the morning or afternoon and fill other slot with swimming at the pools. There was no crowd when we went, there were several pools with no one to share certain pools. Liked the convenience of food near the pools, they even brought our drinks and food to our chairs. This place is amazing. We were upgraded to ocean front room which was nice. Clean and friendly staff! Our deal included $500 in resort fee which covered most of our expenses at the resort and in the end we spent rest in shopping. Since we had little kids, we bought an ice cooler @ safeway (on the way to hotel from airport). Smaller ice coolers are available at Whalers General next to the hotel but a little expensive. We also bought milk, bread, cheese etc from grocery and stored in the ice box. This resort is close to several grocery stores and restaurants. One thing I didn't like about this hotel is self parking..it is very far from our rooms and if you go little late in the night you might not get parking at all, luckily we found parking every day. This was when there was no rush. All in all, we really enjoyed this stay and we would definitely recommend it to others without any hesitation.

Awsome Hotel
By ,
The pool, the amenities, the room. There is just so much to say. The staff is great they were very kind in extending our check out to late afternoon with no additional charge. From the moment you pull up to the moment you leave you feel like royalty. The longer you stay the staff gets to know your name and really makes you feel special. If anyone ever gets the chance to stay there is no way I would pass it up.

Vacation Every year
By ,
This place is a family favorite. We go their every year. My only complaint is that it cost upward of 700 dollars a night. Now most people would see this as a rip off, but the hotel is a must due with children in Maui. The pools are amazing the water elevator cool and the ocean beautiful. The hotel offers complementry sucaba lesson which was a lot of fun for my teens. Their is a small childrens beach harboring sand without the curents or wildlife which is nice for parents of young children. Another extra suprise of our vaction was the wedding going on. The peacefull hawaiian music was a nice tone to set every night as we watched the sun go down. If you do not have kids in toe or you do not wish to have a youthful vacation I would stay at the four seasons next door. That hotel is alot more afordable and less children running around. My only complaints about the Grand was the towels. Everymorning if you wanted chairs you would have to make your way to the pool at 7 am to grab towels and reserve your seat. This would be fine except you must go back to the seat at least every hour to prove that you were there. This would be fine espcially if you have dilligent children but even if you do go back every hour your towel may still be removed. I have found out through my 4 trips to the Grand that the towel game fails to protect the people who do vist their towels frequently. Beside the pesky towel crew the Grand is a top choice of our family and I am sure it will meet the needs of yours too.

My favorite
By ,
This has got to be my favorite hotel we have stayed in our many trips to the Islands of Hawaii. The service was exceptional - we were treated like royalty. It has the best Luau that I have been to - don't miss it - it's worth cost. I highly recommend this hotel.

LOVED!!!! We WILL be returning!
By ,
My husband and I went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. We started off in Oahu and stayed at Outrigger Waikiki on The Beach, which was nice but nothing compared to the Grand Wailea. When we arrived to the Grand Wailea we were immediately welcomed with a friendly Aloha and a beautiful Hawaiian Lei. We were in awe with how beautiful the grounds were kept as well as the building. We spent most of our time in the pool, which also was 5 stars. The elevator in the pool was spectacular! The staff was constantly coming up to us to see if we needed anything. Oh and how could I forget about the SPA GRANDE!!! Almost a year later I am still ranting and raving about the great service. I loved all the different treatments and soaks that were included in the price of my massage. I also cannot get enough of the Spa Grande Honey Mango Lotion. My husband ordered me some for Christmas (yes it was expensive but sooo worth it) and every time I use it, the memories of the Grand Wailea return. The restaurants are very good but expect to pay for a good meal. It makes me so angry to see all of the negative reviews on the resort; you are staying at one of nicest resorts in Hawaii so you should consider yourself blessed for that alone. With that being said, when you stay at a place like the Grand Wailea, you should expect to pay more for luxury. We highly recommend the Grand Wailea to everyone, if you have the opportunity to go to Hawaii, you will not be disappointed!
