Sea Turn Motel, York

Whenever we visit Maine, we always stay at the Sea Turn. The owners are wonderful and go out of their way to accommodate you. We have stayed there so often that they know us by name when we call and already have all our information. Makes making reservations very easy. Right across the street from the beach and right down the road from the boardwalk area of York. Close to York's Wild Kingdom, Nubble Lighthouse, and the Golden Rod restaurant. Great for families. Totally worth the time and money.

What great hosts! Love that Bill! The rooms were the cleanest of any I have ever stayed in. You can't beat the location! Right at the end of long sands, across the street from the road that leads to the Nubble lighthouse and a five-minute (if that) walk to Short sands. Right down the street is a little store that we started calling "the regular store" because the prices were not grossly inflated, the were "regular". The folks at the Sea Turn are in the process of upgrading. We stayed in room two, but got a look at one of the already upgraded rooms...room 9. Room 9 has lovely furniture a dark sleigh bed and amour and dresser with a 32" HD TV. The upper rooms (where room nine is) have a lovely little enclosed porch that overlooks long sands. They say they are doing over the whole place to be like that. I can't wait to see what they have done by next year. Our room had two double beds, TV, a small refrigerator, a microwave and again, very clean. The furnishings were somewhat 80’s, in very good condition and the price was really reasonable! But again, they are in the process of upgrading. We had a great time; everyone was so pleasant and helpful. Really nice people, I can't wait to go back next year! I am happy to recommend the Sea Turn Motel. Now, alot of these reviews are clearly talking about the Sea Latch. The sea latch is way down, almost on the other end of long sands. It is a very large facility many, many rooms. The SeaTurn only has nine rooms. So if you are looking for the sea turn and you pull into a parking lot with alot of units...you're in the wrong place! Head toward short sands. When you see the turn for Nubble lighthouse look across the street from it...then you will be at the Sea Turn. Oh, and have fun!

Best place ever. We used to stay every year until things got tight fiancially. Bill is the MAN. great for kids, and everyone else. Laid back, right across the street from the beach. If you are looking for a pretentious, uppity place, this isn't it!! Great fun

We love this place because it's clean, inexpensive and a 2 minute walk to the Long Sands Beach. Little country store down the street, 5 minute walk to York village. Bill and Cedar are great. Most of the reviews on this page are for a totally different motel which is way down the road. If all you need is a place to lay your head at night, this is the place.

Our third year coming to Sea Latch. Yes, it's an older property. There are things here and there that could use some sprucing up. If you have kids, it's awesome. Tell them to get to know the other kids around the property. My nephews have been coming up each year. They look forward to returning each year to hang out with their "long distance" friends. As you have read in some of the other reviews. Families have been returning here for years. The kids are all growing up together. Parents hanging out together while the kids are off playing. Yes, it's true. You don't have too constantly entertain your kids. Sort of like having a vacation from your kids while you're all on vacation. Our first year the boys got aquainted with the others. The youngest age of the group - 5 years old. The oldest was 16 or 17. They all hung out together, played all the games, swam in the pool together. Most of the kids actually begged Moms and Dads to do stuff on he property with there friends rather than go out. Have seen generations of families staying here so ..... it can't be as bad as some people are potraying it. If you need five star accomidations, find them and pay for them. If you want to relax and enjoy a vacation, give it a try at the Sea Latch!

We have now stayed at the SEA TURN Motel for 5 years and we love it. The staff is great, it's a 1 minute walk to Long Sands Beach and the price is right. The other reviewers are reviewing a different motel which is halfway down the street. These are 2 totally different motels. The pool is great too.

Senility has set in for the elderly owners of the Sea Latch Motor Inn. If you want a damper placed on your vacation plans, or if you are looking to see truth to the myth that all New Englanders are rude, stay here, and you will agree. Vacationers beware! Accomodations are very minimal, diry, and the odor is unbearable. This place gives true meaning to "motor coach Inn." You would be better off sleeping in a motor coach or your car than this establishment. Not a good place for families due to lack of respect and poor values.

Over 15 years ago my parents and I vacationed at Sea Latch quite often. Two years ago my family had the most enjoyable week's vacation at The Sea Latch. We had 2 adjoining rooms in front of the pool. We all enjoyed relaxing by the pool after a day of "beaching it" and it was so convenient to just cross the street to claim our slice of heaven that week. Coffee in the morning was something we all looked forward to in the cafe at the main office that had a view of the ocean. The woman who owns The Sea Latch is personable and charming to talk to. May our children bring their children to continue a generational family summer tradition. Good Job Sea Latch you deserve a 5 Star Rating for value, cleanliness and family atmosphere! We'll be back. We just spent one week in one of the Sea Latch. Great spot for a family vacation. Right across from the beach with nice ocean view from our deck. The kids loved the pool and all the other kids to play with. We have finally foun our spot in York.
