Not so great.

The carlyle suites were not that sweet. My husband and I did not enjoy our time there at all, and would not recommed this hotel to anyone. The carpet was dirty and dingy, It had white stains all over. Their was hair in the sink upon arrival and a beer bottle under our bed. We cut our stay short from 4 nights to 2 nights. The walls were thin and you could hear everything going on in other rooms. The doors to enter roons were a little heavy and you had to put alot into opening them, with this comes slamming when they close at all hours of the night. The neighborhood is decent and it is a 1/2 mile walk to the metro which was nice, and there are several restruants near by. The breakfast buffet was $12 a person and was not worth it at all. But dinner is good and the bar staff was wonderful. At check in the hotel fails to tell you that they put a LARGE hold on your credit card, for our $238 stay they charged with a hold of $793. They told me this was to make sure you had enough funds.

i really liked the service and and the cleanliness and people were really kind and overall it was a qiute calm place the rooms were quite big and the kitchen was perfect the rates were reasonable and the location of the hotel was acceptable

An O.K Eperience

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The Hotel is located in a quiet residential area so we felt safe walking to and from the hotel at night. There are also a number of good restaurants close by. However I had breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel and it was awful. In addition there is only one PC with internet access and it is very slow. The set up of the bathroom is unusual no place to hang towels or clothes. The room was clean but dull. In summary the Hotel is o.k, it location however make it an attractive place to stay.

The Best Find...

Great location, very clean, and professional staff. The only remark is that after the new management breakfast is no longer included, which is verz sad...I remember the great buffet style breakfast they use to have. However, I still prefer to stay at the same hotel despite the pity breaskfast conflict. Worth a try...

It had everything we needed, and more!

the bathrooms are recently renovated, with marble shower, heat lamp, nice soaps, and a separate vanity counter in a dressing area. The kitchenette is separate and has china, utlery, glassware, a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, 2 burners, and basic cooking equipment. With Safeway and Whole Market located close by, this makes a nice change from eating out, or the luxury of prparing a midnight snack. The TV has about 100 channels. There is limited free parking for guests which is a fabulous treat in downtown DC. The bar on the main floor has happy hour. This hotel is a great find.

It was not well kept up, dingy and damp with very noisy thin walled rooms. Uninterested staff, too.
