Bellbuoy Motel, Dewey Beach

I read the prior comments and was surprised. They must have changed management. We had a great weekend. The Inn was old but clean. The management, both day and night, were very hospitable and accommodating. The proximity to the beach was great. Enjoyed a beautiful sunrise and used the chairs from the Inn to sit on the beach.

I never even made it there. They cursed me on the phone when I tried to make a reservation, all because I pointed out an error on their website. Then they hung on me....twice.

Wow- just based off of these reviews this is horrible and i will definetly never stay here no matter what the price- you dont treat anyone like that let alone your guest-thank you all for the warning and i hope this hotel gets closed soon

This hotel has the worst management. They were rude and childish. Many threats were made. I was at the beach visiting my 84 year old grandmother and the night manager (who was not even on duty) screamed at her because I drove her car into the parking lot as I was checking in. He threatened to tow her and have me evicted. My grandmother almost started crying. It was all because withing 2 minutes I did not have my "parking permit" placed in the vehicle. I would not stay her unless you want to be treated like an infant. This guy obviously has an image and power issue and he will probably go out of business even in the location he is in.

I have never felt so harassed in my entire life. The night manager (I believe his name was Todd) was the most rude and ignorant person I have ever professionally dealt with. He made threats to evict our rooms for no reason (probably a "power" rush). He threw a bottle cap at my friends face (even though it was not his he wanted to make an example). When asked for help concerning the motels policy he called us inebriated idiots and refused to help us. Room service has to be requested and when we did it was never done (i.e. no clean towels or sheets the next day. Kind of necessary for people who get sandy and dirty at the beach all day) For a SERVICE related business I felt like I was abused rather than served. I would have rather spent my money on a taxi cab to drive me two hours home each night. I will never go back and would recommend everyone to spend a few extra dollars to stay in place that respects their guests.

The location and price were hard to beat. But not worth it in the long run. The rooms were average, but did have a feeling of uncleanliness and the bathrooms had a strong mildew smell. The worst part of the experience was the night manager who was an extremely rude disrespectful person. One would think dealing with an adult they would act like one, but compared to everyone else there he acted like an infant, which included cursing at guests, threatening eviction for no apparent reason, and throwing things (yes, throwing things). Spend a few extra dollars and stay somewhere else.
