Great Experience, would go back.
By ,
Hotel staff was very courteous and accommodating on the phone and during check in. Front desk was helpful in recommending nearby restaurants. Located in a nice quaint and quiet neighborhood off Burnside. Walking distance to 23rd street shopping and restaurants and about a mile from Powell's Books. Room was in very good condition, comfortable interior, which my family of three enjoyed. My 9 year old son loved the pull-out couch/bed in the living room. Hotel parking was packed pretty tight, but barely found a spot across the street at their adjacent property. Overall great experience and would consider going back on my next trip in the fall.

Will be a regular here

The rooms were clean and comfortable, location is excellent. The manager was gracious and accomodating and flexible after a reservation issue that was really our fault. She worked very hard to make sure we were taken care of and comfortable. I would recommend this as a great place to stay.

Good Location, OK price, Iffy Staff
By ,
Hotel was a great location. Very close to downtown, Nob Hill, and Washington park. Bus stop close by. Free breakfast in the lobby, not that great though. Our room was like a one bedroom apartment complete with utensils, pots, plates in the kitchen. Comfortable, however the heater in our living room did not work. You have to ask for a blowdryer. The staff was nice. But they seemed weird when I came back to claim my husband's left behind buttoned shirt and khaki slacks. I called and told them if they found a shirt in my room and they said to call back in the morning so they can ask the cleaning staff. I called back and they said, yep it's here. And I told them, I'd be back after lunch. Well I came back, and the guy at the desk looked and he just gave me the slacks. He said I thought I saw the shirt, let me call the clean staff. they probably put in the lost & found in our other hotel (across the street). He calls the cleaning staff and tells them, "Yes the lady is here to pick it up!!" it took like 15 minutes to give the shirt back to me! It wasn't even a name brand shirt! I guess their policy on Lost and Found is Finders - Keepers, Losers - Weepers!!!

Won't go back ever
By ,
Manager was rude and patronizing. Other things I did not like were the fact that no snack machines, only l coke machine and l ice machine in the basement, which was scary to go to at night. I did not sleep well the nights I was there because the pillows on the bed were hard as a rock. I even tried the spare pillow in the closet and it was hard also. Hair dryers were not furnished in the rooms, I had to borrow one from the desk and return it when I left. The continental breakfast was a joke, bagels and orange juice. No local newspapers at all to read, only the USA Today. there was no computer room to check my email like I have had at other hotels. All of the staff I encountered at the front desk were fantastic except for the manager. One day when the cleaning crew came to clean I asked them to come back a little later after I left and they promised they would but then did not come back that day and clean my room as promised. The tvs did not have many channels to watch and there were no pay per view movies either.

Hit or Miss staff
By ,
The staff was great. The manager was insulting, rude and indifferent. We initially reserved our rooms directly with the management. We were assured this would be the best way to get a deal. When we arrived the manager informed us that the there was no reservation kept for us. We had our intelligence insulted quote a few times before the lower staff actually fixed the problem for us. The rooms are mildly overpriced if you don't get a "managers special" which, as out story shows means you may not have a room, but they're well appointed suites with KITCHENS even! The other staff was amazing, The young man behind the desk had an incredible knowledge of the area and it's history and sights. Despite our initial let down, we'd stay again.

Wonderful hotel!
By ,
Hotel is located in a great neighborhood. Very quiet but near to all great city attractions. Unbeatable prices for the size of the rooms! I would come back a million times if I could. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. No pool, so I had to pee in the bathroom! LOL. Great place, highly reccomended.

Great area, not so great room.
By ,
The hotel was in a great location, still considered downtown, but out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Walking distance to great shopping and best dining in Portland. Close to zoo and Rose Gardens. The rooms, while a nice size and have a small kitchen, were not the best. There were stains on the carpets and bedding. The bedrooms were quiet, but if you were in the sitting area, you could hear the doors slamming and people talking outside. Most rooms really were non smoking.
