Nice Place To Visit
By A Yahoo! User, 02/21/07
I liked Salt Fork because it was in a nice setting and it was fun for the hole family. Salt Fork had 2 pools 1 indoor 1 out a hot tub a gameroom a bar a few places to eat and a giftshop and more!!. Me and my wife did our thing while my son and his friend did there thing. We gave the kids a room key incase they wanted to get into the room. We didn't see each other until the next morning and we got there at 10:00 am the day before. It was very nice, clean for the most part. But the important thing is the hole family had fun. They have horseback riding for the kids and parents. And lots lots more so just go visit for yourself. It was awsome. My hole family really had a lot of fun.

Great location, nice lodge, but awful restaurant!
By Harley Staggers, 12/01/06
The approach to the lodge is a beautiful drive through the park. The lodge itself is impressive and the hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The furnishings in the hotel are attractive but the beds are uncomfortable. The indoor pool was very plesant. Timbers Restaurant: The coffee tastes like instant. They claim it is the very best. The lunch menu consists of salads and sandwiches. The food then was OK. The wait for dinner was over an hour and the rolls were stale and hard as a rock. This was pointed out but never remedied. The food was less than unremarkable. It is well worth the drive to Cambridge for a satisfactory dinner. The place was far from full but the staff seemed overwelmed Pack you own food and eat in your room!

Salt Fork Was Great We Go Back There Every Year
By A Yahoo! User, 08/26/06
I liked the pool how clean it was and I'd stay there every chance I get. Why it's clean nice rooms farn out pool. I loved the Wildlife Lounge. Also I liked how you only had to pay 50 cents or 1 dollar to play pool. I liked the live DJ at the wildlife lounge. You could get up and pick a song and sing it any song!! The one thing that bothered me was the breakfast buffet and I brought my PS2 for the nights in the room and they didn't have hook ups. But otherwise it was great we now come back every year.I love it it was awsome. Great place 4 singles couples and hole families. They even have a golfcorse 2 swimming pools a ball room for receptions and bars and gamerooms. Well worth the drive. It was great and the service was 2.!!!!

Can't wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/24/06
Had a very romantic weekend there once. It was a very very nice lodge, alot better then I had really expected. The rooms were very nicely decorated and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The area is really beautiful and the wildlife is just as awsome. The deer roamed right up to the Lodge and you could walk right by them and not spook them. And though I don't think it's allowed but if you wanted to and yes alot of people were doing it, you could feed the deer from your balcony. There is just so many things to do in the area, for Adults and for children. There's a cool beach close by, a Golf Course of their own, Cabins that can be rented that are in great condition. There are walking and rideing trails everywhere and there's also close by a place you can rent horses at. Really a place you need to check out!

Plan to stay at least a few days.
By Haywire, 11/02/05
For a state park this place is worth the trip. Plan to stay at least a few days. It's really a seasonal place with everything you would want in the middle of nowhere. You really can't see everything in a day. Mainly families, hunters, campers and the such are here. The lodge itself is cozy. The dinning room has a very nice view overlooking a small lake. Check out the civil war painting on the wall if you go. Had the Bison burger which was good, however the service was bad. This I assume had to do with the time of season I was there. Lastly, my cell phone coverage (Alltel) at the park was like swiss cheese and patchy you either have a signal or not. But after all you go here to experience nature not tecnology.

home away from home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/03/05
I have stayed here many times, we come once a year. The location is remote, beautiful, and away from all distractions. The employee's at the lodge are super friendly, and helpful. They also remember us every year. The hiking trails are wonderful, lots of wildlife. Very Relaxing!!!!

I'd stay there; if I had a flat tire!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/05
Too much money for the amenities. A good range would be $55.00 single $70.00 double based on my overnight stay experience throughout the US.
